Jett.  The 2 1/2 year old from hell.  I thought Rico was a hard 2 yr old.  Turns out I had worse coming.

This child does not listen to instruction, like when he is told not to do something, and he'll go straight ahead and do it, not once, not twice, not THREE times but more!!  This morning he kept coming into my bedroom when I was trying to sleep and DH had to get him out over 3 times and tell him off.  But he kept coming in.

I put him to bed for his nap, and he'll come out again and again and again......

It's exhausting.  Most of you know other stories about this difficult child.  But I'm too tired to go into it.

I've booked him to start kindy when he turns 3 (which is Aug 31) but I'm seriously thinking he needs to start asap even just one morning a week to give me a break, and see if the teachers and help with his behaviour somehow.

He's also a serial escape artist.  Well he only escapes when a doors been left open, or the side gate otherwise he can't get out.  But he runs off down the road and thankfully we live in a good neighbourhood and people have stopped him and brought him home.  It's literally only been 2 mins before I find he's missing and go looking for him to see a neighbour bringing him back.  The only time I can relax is when he's asleep.  Even when I know the house is secure you can't trust him not to be doing something naughty (i.e drawing on the walls, getting in things he's not allowed, trying to pick up the baby etc the list goes on).

He's a delight a lot of the time and very entertaining and loving, but my goodness I've been close to tears since having Ava with his behaviour - WHICH by the way isn't due to me having her, it's been like this for a while!

So if you're still reading and have ANY suggestions on how to get him to listen to instruction, cos that's a lot of the problem, then please share! 

Well I have to say it's quite a relief to hear there's more little terrors our there, other than my own. It's just soo totally exhausting!  I remember thinking with Rico and joking to people that I thought he may have ADHD because he was so busy.... so you'd almost think that I'd know how to handle having another 2 yr old terror, but it's been 4 yrs since and I can't for the life of me remember.  Rico did settle down, however I can't remember how long the terrible two phase lasted with him.  I think he then went to the terrible THREE phase which wasn't much easier.

*thumps head against wall and wonders why I decided to have another baby now instead of waiting til Jett was at school*

Yesterday morning it was milo poured all over the carpet... today it was honey puffs poured under the dining table.  Seriously. 

Nikki, Jett isn't really TT yet.  He's just been taking his nappy off so we just put undies on him, but he still has accidents.  The day starts off with him wearing a nappy, but once he takes it off then he's just in undies and I try to get him on the toilet before he wets himself.

Oh no Jaycee!!!!  My older sister stuck a piece of foam up her nose when she was younger (older than a toddler though) and it wasn't til a sore developed under her nose and my dad noticing that she stunk all the time, that it was discovered what she'd done.  And my younger brother when he was toddler age stuck a watch battery up his nose too.  PLEASE don't let me have a child that does that!

For a start, congrats Italiah on number 4!  Wow, I honestly don't know how you do it!

I have one that is being a bit of a monster at the moment as well.  I think "nzpiper" is right about the 2.5yrs stage as ours has definitely gotten worse recently.

The thing that amazes me is her ability to go completely mental over the tiniest little thing, like not wanting to wear something in particular to daycare!  She hits and kicks and then bursts into tears!  Usually I try to just walk away and ignore her until she calms down, but it's very difficult when we're all rushing to get out of the door to work and daycare. 

I have been wondering lately whether she's just not handling the rushing about, because she is generally more chilled on the weekends when we're not "making" her get ready to go anywhere.

Hehehe Oli pulled all my new seedlings out of my vege garden today, and thought it was HILARIOUS, then escaped from the back garden (fully fenced) and wandered on down the driveway yelling for our neighbour, picked the cat up by his head, bit and hit mummy continuously.....and thats just after tea!!!

It had better be just a phase.... time out doesnt work for us, so need to come up with something else!!
