Hello everyone,

Just wondering if any of you ladies who have (or have had in the past) an anterior placenta could tell me at what week you started to feel real movements?

Hiya... I have an anterior placenta this time round and didn't really feel any movements at all until about twenty weeks. And supposedly for second pregnancies you can feel the movement earlier.

yup - I have an anterior placenta and it was the same for me, around the 20 week mark. I also remember thinking at around 26 weeks that the kicks couldn't possibly get any stronger! *pfft* This kid will have the strongest thighs ever!

It's my first pregnancy, and I've got an anterior placenta - I felt baby not just kick but throw an absolute fit twice when I was at 17 weeks, then nothing that I could definantly say was bubs until 20 weeks, and very little for 2 or 3 weeks after that too.  Now she's wriggly every day.  Made it harder at first for others to feel her move, but I don't mind that because I'm pretty selective about who puts their hand on my belly anyway!

Its my first pregnancy and I have an anterior placenta and I was STRESSSSSING out cos i hadnt felt movement by week 20 - well I neednt have worried cos the kicks came in at 22 weeks, and they were pretty strong! The very first one I felt I remember was 22 weeks on the day and I was a bit unsure if it was or wasnt but a few days later i got a big one and I knew it was!
Even now I dont get the whole "fluttering" thing people talk about - I cant feel any of teh soft movements, I only get the occassional kick...My midwife told me not to worry about when I felt movement cos of the anterior thing, she said that if there was a problem they would pick it up in their checks and not to worry about movement until after week 24 or so...
So if you are stressing then dont! (hard I know) but it will come!

Thanks for your replies ladies! That has put my mind at rest, and I'll try not to panic for a while longer!

I know baby is moving, cos he wouldnt stay still at my 20 wk scan - Its just that I cant really feel it yet.

Oh well, hopefully in the next few weeks, eh?
