Hayden is a bit lazy with his eating and pretty much wont eat meat unless its chopped up tiny and mixed in with mash and sauce. But I have found he likes the 'meat free' range, things like cauliflower grills or nut burgers but they are prepared so no doubt full of extra fat / salt so he only has them every now and again. He will only eat vegies when they are chopped up and seems to have issues with some textures but I dont really think he has an issue as he'll eat a cracker happily or fork fulls from my plate.

Anyway this wasnt really about his bad eating habits lol I was wondering what your toddlers favourite meal was. Hayden's is baked beans and a poached egg!!

scrambled eggs is also a winner. Also homemade chicken nuggets are a dinner I know she will always eat. Ella has also just started to really get into homemade hamburgers.

Macaroni cheese with chopped spinach and peas added in is a new favourite here (aka green pasta lol).

Spaghetti out of a tin is pretty popular here too, as are baked beans.

Mmm ... must be nearly tea time for mummy, this is making me hungry!

I'm just going to revive this thread so I can get more ideas about what to cook for DS, and what goes down well, also, how do you make homemade chicken nuggets?

He's a very annoying eater and doesn't really do favorites, I'll get excited because I'll think I've found something he likes then he won't take it the next day. tho he loves all things berry and loves rice pudding.

things that have always been a winer in this house are plain pasta with ham, cheese and tomato.. the middle one doesnt really like the tomato and they like it with just cheese as well.

and the other big fave that all three like is bacon and egg pie. I had to get a bigger dish it got so popular!

My two love spag bol, or anything with mince and tomato based sauce like sheppards pie or naches - these sorts of meals are great for hiding vege in like grated carrots, zucchini, pumpkin, or diced vege.

Pasta with any sort of sauce is also a hit and Gabrielle loves my homemade green chicken curry and even scoffs the broccolli and carrot when normally she isn't a vege fan - and it's quite spicy

We're on a fish pie phase here now. Callum seems to really love peas when they're "in" stuff. Maybe it's just the cheese sauce

Oh and we had apricot chicken last week and Callum LOVED that with rice.

The girls favourite here is mince burritos! The love mince so usually anything with it in is a hit. (Except for sheppards pie, they hate mashed potato)
Frozen vegies are a favourite too...

My wee girl really loves a good basic meat, potato and vege meal. Steak or lamb, with potatoes (however they come) and veges (carrots, broccolli and peas) and she will demolish the lot! Lamb is even better when it's on the bone i.e. ribs.

She's not into convenience meals though i.e. tinned spaghetti or baked beans. She refuses to eat anything like that.   But fish n chip takeaways are always a hit and we have to get her a hot dog on a stick - her fave!

Tinned spaghetti is definitely a favourite here too.

She's pretty good at eating most things if she's in the right mood
We do find the plainer meals are eaten the most though...meat and boiled veg..mince and pasta etc

Tuna, pasta, sweetcorn, spinach and cheese sauce, or if its really hot all of the above cold with mayo instead of cheese sauce is a real fav.

mac & cheese
homemade chicken nuggets (strips of chicken breast in breadcrumbs and parmesan, baked for about 10 minutes)
tinned spaghetti (with ham & peas added)
fish fingers and homemade chips (sealord hoki ones)
BBQ sausages & boiled new potatoes

Last week they both demolished chicken enchiladas (I think the bit of sour cream on the side sold them!!)

I found this recipe in a toddler cookbook I got from the library but haven't tried them yet- looks really easy though!

Baked chicken nuggets
40g (1 ˝ cups) corn flakes
499g boneless skinless chicken breasts
plain flour
1 egg white

Preheat oven to 200 (Gas 6). Process corn flakes in a food processor to make fine crumbs.
Cut chicken into bite sized pieces. Toss in seasoned flour, then in lightly beaten egg. Roll each piece in crumbs until well coated.
Lightly grease a baking tray and cook for 10mins or until golden and cooked through.
