I'm pretty sure my 20mth old boy is saying...

Oh no...sh*t!!

Obviously we will have to watch our language!!

What do I do, ignore it, tell him not to say it?? So far I have been ignoring it and this morning said oopsy daisy and then he copied that instead.

Help!

Hannah's favourite is "ooh...bugger..sh*t"
So we ignore it and say "Oopsy Daisy" instead. She's saying that more often than the other, so I'd say repetition is the key.

And yes, we're being more vigilant about our language now too

we've just manage to extinguish the F@*# word... it was awful... my DF tripped over the cat bowl one day and dropped his breakfast and said in quite an loud voice "oh f**K" ... so for several weeks after that anytime anything went wrong DD2 would say "oh F**k" - just like dad So embarassing cos you'd think she heard it all the time but she hadn't she's just such a parrot!

we just ignored it too and said "oopsy daisy" as well

Michaela swore for the first time about a month ago.  Well she didn't really swear she said "oh for bucks cake" but the intention was there.  I was so shocked to hear it I asked her what she'd just said and she repeated it obviously very proud of herself for saying something so 'grownup' so I explained it wasn't a nice thing to say and both DH and I apologised to her for using that kind of language and promised it wouldn't happen again.  She hasn't sworn again since.

I'm usually really controlled but DH has a potty mouth and despite her being in his care for the majority of the past 3 years she's never sworn until recently.  The phrase she used was something I'd said a few days earlier after a particularly bad night with Andrew - she's obviously emulating me which I need to be very aware of.... even when I'm tired and grumpy
