Hi ladies,

I'm gathering some info so I can start ringing as soon as the doc confirms. I live in Papakura but work in East Tamaki so ideally a midwife who works in either of or both of these areas would suit.

Any recommendations?

TIA

My friend in Papakura had one she raves about (and will be using again). I'll email her and ask who it was for you.

I'm in Papakura and I'm using Jo Griffiths, she's lovely and really experienced. Based out at Papakura Maternity but also runs a clinic at Middlemore. There's about three other midwvies based at Papakura Maternity, apologies I can't remember names off the top of my head but do PM me if you need any info

I am wondering which is better Papakura or botany maternity unit for birth and post natal care. I was in Papakura last tme and didn't find the midwives very helpful and supportive but that was 3 years ago. I can over look the building and food etc but not sure where to go this time. any thoughts??

I stayed at both botany and papakura. I went to botany after the raving reviews ild had but Papakura was by far the better one to stay at (i wanted to be transfered there after less then 24hours at botany). The botany staff acted as though i was a 'chore' rather then a new mum needing advice/help. I know of a lady who stayed at botany and they made her cry!

I went to Botany this time and didn't find it too bad, but this is my second baby and I didn't really care what they said to me

I stayed at Papakura with DS and they were great. I'll be going there again after little beanette arrives in December.
I was a little bummed out by the sharpie tagging in my room, but it wasn't a biggie and had no bearing on the staff.

I had Jo Griffiths and she was awesome. My son is now 13months and now we are expecting again and will be having Jo as our midwife. I loved the staff at papakura, they were great.
