Hi there!
Congrats on your pregnancy & what an exciting journey it is! I'm sure you've thought a lot about your impending birth & wondered what it's going to be like & what kind of support are you going to be offered?

Well - maybe I can offer my help! :)

I'm registered with Childbirth International to gain my certification as a Doula. If you are not sure of what the word Doula is - in short - she's a support person during your pg & birth.

I will meet with you before your birth - so we can review your birthplan together. I can offer you various suggestions of how I can be your support during labour - encouraging you to change & try different positions, massage techniques, use of birth ball, are ideas we can discuss should you choose to.
I am available to come to your house at the beginning of your labour - and will help you labour at home for as long as you feel comfortable before we transfer to the hospital. I will work with your partner & offer encouragement during this birthing miracle. I have no medical qualifications - so don't take the place of your midwife/obstetrician - I am purely there for you & your partner.

Some advantages of using a Doula include:
- 50% reduction in c-sections
- 25% shorter labours
- 60% reduction in epidural requests

So, if after reading this - you'd like to know more - please don't hesitate to ask me any questions....or post your comments!

I am happy to be your Doula at either Waitakere or North Shore Hospital.

Hi! I had a doula at my first birth (which was a c-section) and she was a great help.

Good luck with your certification, I hope it goes well!

I was considering a Doula with my first birth, but never got around to it. Amazing how quickly 9 months flies by.

Am going to be a bit more organised when number 2 comes along.
