So, time out has worked fantastically since Blake was 2. Lately when I ask him to do things which he normally would do, he just wont. He says "No thanks" and walks off.

So I ask him to do xyz, then tell him to do xyz and if he still says "No" he goes on Time out...this has worked a treat however he is now "choosing" to go to time out instead of doing what I have asked and when he comes off he STILL wont do what I have asked and says "No thanks"....ARRRGGGHHH

What next?

Also...He has started being a bit mean to Brennan now and then with a few things being carefully thrown across the room or a subtle hit across the head.... How do you deal with this???

Talk about push me buttons!

Where is your time out? & what happens after he comes out of time out?

If you time out in an interesting place, ie his room or some where he can see stuff then try making it as bland & uninteresting as possible. Then after time out make him do what you wanted him to in the first place.

Girls are much easier...I just start counting down from 5 never get to 1, not sure what will happen if we get there

Time out is in a corner off the lounge.
I tell him why he was on time out then ask him to come and do what we were "trying " to get done in the beginning!

Yes girls are easier....I think Paige had time out twice!!! Altho now she can be a bit trying.

just put him back in then, and maybe dont ask tell. also do you stay in the same room with him? maybe if you left him alone it might be more effective.
