Hello,
I have just naturally miscarried at 7 weeks. When I started bleeding I went for a scan and I had already lost the baby and was told it just looks like my period is about to start.
My midwife told me to wait for 1 period and then try again, but after that she said we could try straight away if we wanted to.
I was just wondering how long others waited and did you conceive quickly? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for your loss hun
We started trying straight away. The Gynae we saw said there was no reason for us to wait. Although for dating purposes he suggestged he wait at least one cycle.
Unless there are medical reasons to wait, I say start again when you feel you are ready.

Thanks. I would like to start trying straight away, was just a bit worried there may be a link between trying too soon and miscarrying again.

I'm so sorry about your MC Beani
I naturally MCd just before 8wks and we didn't wait (didn't actually expect to fall pregnant again for a while) But this wee bub invited itself along straight away. Some Drs like you to wait a cycle as it makes dating much easier but we were told when my body is ready things will happen.
Emotionally only you and DP will know when you feel ready to start again - don't let anyone tell you othewise.
HUGS

Hugs to you Beani, MC are totally not fair...
We waited one cycle (for dating purposes like Rianna said) and then started trying. The Doctor I spoke to when I had my D&C said that if you feel mentally ok to try again then after a normal miscarriage there is no medical reason not to try straight away.
It took me about 4 months to fall preggers again, and I am currently coming up 30 weeks! So please dont give up hope

We waited one cycle (until we had our specialist appt) and were supposed to wait another one because we were having tests for recurrent m/c, but rather than wait, we just didn't really try....it took us 3 cycles (not months as my cycles after the last m/c ranged between 5 and 7 weeks) to conceive these two

So sorry about your miscarriage Beani.
I was the same as the others really - my doctor said there was no reason to hold off TTC, only reasons to wait another cycle was for dating purposes and also to wait till we were emotionally ready.

I had my dnc two months ago and since then I don't know what is going on with my body. After 6 weeks I had some spotting and thought it could by AF but it lasted 2 hours...and that has been all. I am getting ichy about it and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience.

Hugs Beani - as far as I am aware you can start trying straight away, it is totally a personal choice and medically it is fine as I was assured at my dnc. I had to wait due to having the rubella injection and also I had a colposcopy and had to wait for the biopsy results, then also had to have a month off in March due to other health issues, so if feels like it has been a while for us. All the best for your ttc journey - see you in ttc threads

i had a DandC as well but was after missed mc (foudn out bub died at 8 and had DandC at 12) and my doc made me wait.but probably cause he wanted my levels down to 0 for a couple of reasons...we got preg straight away (but AF took 5-6 weeks to come back) when we were allowed to (so 3 months later) and this time (natural 6-7 weeks)noone told us to wait but cycles been very weird since then.. one was 54!!!

Thanks everyone. I stopped bleeding a few days ago and did a preg test today which was negative so we have decided to try again straight away. I have no idea where I am at in my cycle though, guess we will just have to go for it and hope for the best.
