My husband and I were talking today about the fact that we have probably been talking too much to Oliver in third person. "Give it to Mummy etc"
He stll has his pronouns mudded eg will say "you want some milk" I was just wondering at what stage others have got this concept?
Thanks

That's an interesting question. DS is almost 17 months and has recently started watching 'Bunnytown' on TV. DS calls the two fluffy cave bunnies "Stinky" because the first time he saw them one said "Me dirty" and the other one said "Me stinky".  OK, so technically the bunny should have said "I'm stinky" etc, but we were still really surprised that he thought "stinky" was their name. Perhaps they can understand the concept at quite a young age, but I imagine they'd be a bit older before they can demonstrate it through speech (DS only uses two-word sentences occassionally so far ).

Jack just kind of got it one day but I can't really remember when, maybe around 2 and a half? Hes 3 now and still doesn't get the difference between things like her and she. He will say thing like "Where is her" but gets the whole me and I thing most of the time.

I had this conversation a while back. Keira would always mix her 'her's' and 'she's' I realised I couldnt even work out how to explain it myself.
One day she she just got it and we have no problem with it anymore.

Tom seems to get it.  He has "yours" and "mine" which really suprised me.  And he will call himself "Me" but thats it.  He says "there SHE is" to everything he finds.

I think they just "get it" one day.
Although Jake still gets she and her mixed up, and until only recently called Charly Him and his, lol. What was once "Charlotte pooed he pants is now "Charlotte pooed she pants"

Yep, just suddenly getting it has been my experience as well. Kryssi says Me, I, mine, her, you (note that his is thus far not picked up in our family lol)
