I want to get a Room Thermometer but the only ones I have seen (Phillips and Grobag Egg) are quite expensive. Can anyone recommend a good one that doesn't cost the earth?

If you don't mind them not changing colour just go to the hardware store and get one for $5

I have got the grobag one and whilst it is a bit more expensive it has been really good and doubles as a night light which has been very useful

And again .

I would have to say it has been one of the best things we have bought. Although admittedly, any cheaper thermometer would do the same job. I like the grobag egg because you can still see the temp when the room is dark.

Same here to all of the above. DH took some convincing when I bought one for Sam and now he loves it! I have already been told we will be buying another for the new baby!

Yeah I really like the look of the Grobag one but don't know if I can justify the cost. The one I have for Jack is a clock and you have to flick a button to get the temp which can be a pain and used to wake him sometimes if he wasn't in a deep enough sleep.
Maybe I will keep my eye out on TM

How bright is the light on the grobag egg? I quite like the look of these, but Bella sleeps really well in a dark room & I know with another night light I had it made the room too light.

Have you got a monitor yet? We bought the angelcare digital baby monitor and it has the baby's room temp on the parent monitor so you don't even have to get out of bed to check the baby's room temp!

Hi Linzy

If you know anyone in the UK then you can buy the Grobag egg from Amazon for £15 with free delivery in the UK. It ends up being a $40 saving (I think). If you dont but wanted to get one PM and I might be able to get my Mum to bring it out for you to save postage as long as you can pick up from the North Shore??...just a thought....

I got a basic one from the warehouse and it's been great. Cost about a tenner I think, and has a clock as well as the temp.

DS doesn't need a nightlight as he is a light sleeper so that hasn't been an issue for us.

We  our Grobag egg. It has solved many many arguements as I am always cold and my DH is always warm, so being able to see at a glance the colour of the egg works wonders!!

It provides a soft glow in its vicinity only caliandjack. You can make out things just around it but it doesn't light the room :) Its great if you have a light sleeper in a cot as you can place it at the other end of room and it wouldn't resonate far at all :)
