Anyone have any great ideas to get a 2 year old to sleep in the day..... My little monkey has decided that the 11.5 hours she gets at night is enough...despite the temper tantrums that occur from lunch time onwards she wont sleep!

Ours is trying to drop sleeps atm too and sometimes it appears that she may well get by without one at all. But for the sake of routine I like to put her down at the same time each day, regardless, for an hour minimum. It sounds like you will need to put your DD to bed say an hour later for the sake of an hour's break during the day. Also see if you can time a day sleep for her before her bedroom gets too hot. She may well be receptive to choosing a book to take to bed for her rest.

Jack has decided a couple times lately that he didn't want to sleep even though it was obvious that he needed to, he is the king os fighting sleep at any time of the day or night.
The few times that he threw a wobbly and wouldn't go down for a nap I have put him in the car and he has been asleep within 5-10mins. Luckily I am able to transfer him from the car to bed. At this stage we have only had to do this 2-3 times in the last month. Not quite sure what I would do if it became an ongoing problem
