Today Dominic told me 'see you soon Mummy' and took off out the back door! It was nice of him to let me know he was going this time
So, I've been in a mad rush to childproof all the doors and windows so he can't get out without me.
But he does this where ever we are.
How can I get him to understand that he can't go off by himself?
With two under two sometimes my attention is distracted and I'm terrified of losing him, there are so many dangers out there.
I'm all out of ideas and I'm thinking of buying some reins which I said I would never use!
Has anyone got any suggestions?

we play "stop and go" with our boys, but they are much older at three and four....and the three year old doesn't always listen. basically you let them run off a bit down the footpath then yll stop and they have to freeze, then go - they run again - you get the drift. The boys think it is the coolest game ever and I get to control them. You could train him in a fenced area and then use the same technique when he's a bit oolder "in the wild"

Thanks Lizzle, I think at the moment he is a little bit too young for that one but I've stored it away for later. Dominic is your typical boy and has very, very selective hearing! I know he can hear me he just chooses not to listen
