Just curious as to what soap/body wash you use for your children and at what age are they ok to use adult soaps/shampoos? I'm still using Huggies baby body wash stuff for Ashleigh. I had been using it to wash her hair aswell, as J&J gives her cradle cap. But I have noticed recently her hair is so knotty after washing so today I bought some Palmolive Kids 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner and it wasn't knotty at all after using it. I assume it is ok to use for her now (she is 2.5yrs). I guess I'll just keep using the Huggies body wash for now.

ETA - I was using Ecostore - but call me fussy, I hated the smell

I use my shampoo and conditioner on Michaela, and have done for months.  She also uses my soap (dove beauty bar) but she has her own bubble bath (can't remember the brand but they're called space bubbles and are apparently all natural and have chammomile extract).

We use normal stuff on James know when he has a shower he gets all lathered up but when having a bath we still just use water unless he's really filthy.

We use a pears soap that is really gentle on skin. We STILL get bad patches if we use anything else

We use the huggies bath wash, and occasionally I will put a tiny dot of my conditioner in Leahs hair if its really bad.

our girls have quite sensitive skin, especially ayja - we used the johnsons top to toe wash for absolutely ages when they were babies and toddlies, and only a small amount of that for washing their hair.

We then switched over to the johnsons kids range and used the fruit-salad blue body wash for them, when ayja was about 1 and a half-ish, which seems to work well, then we found the huggies wash for sensitive skin so tend to stick with that now as it works a treat on ayja's skin. I also use the body shop pashionfruit body butter very very sparingly on her arms and body when her skin is dry and it makes it lovely again (great for after swimming lessons cos the chlorine wreaks havoc on her skin)

Sometimes they do just have a normal bath or a bath with some small amount of bubblebath, but since they went to daycare etc, especially during summer they come home sandy and sunscreened up and need a good wash... paris loves her outdoors play so comes home all grassy and barked now from school - so again needs a good scrubbing most nights. lol

in terms of shampoos, we used to use the palmolive kids apple shampoo (which smells lovely and also comes in honey) but have now stiched on behalf of paris - to palmolive "fashion girl" shampoo, still aimed at kids but smeels kinda rose-ish. That seems to work nicely on their hair but i use adult conditioner on paris's hair now as well as it needs it.

It really depends on your childs type of skin. I have run out of their wash stuff sometimes and have used my st ives vanilla body wash, or for a while they used my palmolive milk and honey wash which are both very gentle and were ok. Even actually the luxd one, thats pomegranite and palm milk is lovely too and hasn't made my girls skin icky.... which says alot, especially when it comes to ayja. and shampoos, well depends how much hair your wee person has too. both my girls have masses of hair, paris's is just so darn thick it needs lots of care and conditioner to keep it nice.

soooo, short answer... yes, palmolive stuff is all good!

We're still using the Eco-store baby stuff and have more baby bath stuff stashed away which we'll work our way through. She also has her own Wiggles bubblebath.

I've been curious also though what age they can use adult stuff.

Andrew is almost 5 and still uses the Johnsons stuff. he does bath with Josh and Josh can only use that. If he has a shower then he has his Thomas "foam". I still use the Jonhsons stuff to wash their hair - but my boys don't have much hair so it is fine (and I have a heap of it from my uncle).

I use adult hair stuff on Jack if I run out of that palmolive kids one but it stings their eyes so I try and stick to no tears stuff. I use this Lush oily thing for in the bath and it doesn't seem to irritate their skin.

I use the Johnsons Kids stuff on my big three, I usually put it in the water as 'bubbles' then just wash them with water but if they're really filthy I'll lather them up with it. Mercedes and Maya both get eczema but they seem OK with this stuff. I use Palmolive Kids on their hair, Maya gets to choose apple or honey when I do the shopping, but I only wash the gremlins hair about once a week coz they don't have much of it, and I use Pantene conditioner on Maya's after washing coz it's so tangly.

I only use natural stuff, and I agree it never smells as good.
