My husband and I have been trying for a 2nd baby for 3 years with absolutely no glimmer of hope until June this year when I found my MP was 6 days late. I rushed to test and had very faint positives on the many tests I did.
Four days after my +ve test I started getting lower abdominal pain. After another 4 days I was sent for a scan and was then given the methotrexate injection.
My husband and I finally felt a bit of hope rather than feeling sadness. We started trying again after 2 MP just like the drs said. We used the OPK and have just found that I am 6 days late again. Once again my tests are faint positives and after a blood test today found my HCG levels are very low.
I feel miserable, quite depressed, like this is now the end of our trying. I know people are in much worse situations than we are and I try to keep that in mind.
I am struggling today and as we haven't told anyone yet there is really no one to chat to. I have tried to find a NZ forum that may have others going through the same thing.
I guess I need to know that there may be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Anyone out there wanting to make the sun shine a bit would be greatly appreciated.

I've had an ectopic and methotrixate. I'm surprised they said it was ok to try after 2 period, we were told 6 minimum. But that may be to do with the doseage.
Just because you have low hcg that doesn't necessarily mean another ectopic. THere are a few stories of women on here who have had good outcomes from low hcg.
I just had a miscarriage, first month after being able to try again but it was a normal miscarriage so strangely I was happy about that.
Can you get your doc to do some further investigation.. like repeated hcg tests to see whats going on there. And then if things don't work out find out whats going on with your tubes? This is what we are considering doing if I end up with a 2nd ectopic
Good luck though! And rant away, it helps!!!

I had low hcg and low rising hcg with my m/c. I had a scan and the pregnancy was in the right place but just not growing as it should. So although low hcg and low rising hcg can be a sign of ectopic it is not always the case.
Are you having repeat hcg tests done? as really the actual number doesn't mean much it is how it rises, it should double in 48-72 hours.
Also could you request a scan? to see where the pregnancy is or do they want to do that later on?
Good luck and I really hope you have a sticky bean that is in the right place.

You have had such a hard time, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this worry and I really hope that you have a better outcome this time.

I am home today and really trying hard to keep myself busy.
I have just had my 2nd blood test, the results come in this afternoon.
The Dr said the plan goes like this: If my levels double then it is unlikely to be ectopic but will have an early scan. If my levels do not rise enough then I will have to wait till they get to 1500 for a scan or wait till next week when I will be closer to 6 weeks.
I am not one for waiting, I make myself feel quite sick with nerves.
My husband is trying to be +ve but he doesn't say enough for me and I start to feel like he has had enough of all this. he said the other day when we found out my levels are low that that was it, we should flag trying again and just be happy the way we are.
I can see his point but just dont feel right with just 1 child in our family.
I have a few little niggly pains today but they are more wind movements rather than the windy pains I had last time.
It has been 4 year since my last pregnancy and I can't remember what I felt like at this point.
Thanks to all those people taking the time to write in this forum, its great to hear others stories and know you are not alone at such a lonely time.

Just remember with each pregnancy you notice more earlier on.
Good luck with the results!

Good luck with the results.
Is quite normal to have period like cramping and stretching pains very early on, and as said things are felt quicker with subsequent pregnancies.

Hi there,
I got my blood tst results on thursday after 2 hours of trying to track them down, ssolute torture.
My levels had risen from 55 on tues to 155 on thurs, which is a +ve preg test but tells me nothing about the position of the baby
I found a midwife quick smart and she has me an app for a scan on thursday.
She puts me according to my levels at just 4 1/2 weeks but my dates tell me I am just about 6. Hope the levels dont mean much.
so far things dont feel like last time but I am still extremely nervous and just want to be at that healthy 12 week mark.

Oh Dayna that is really hard but your results sound good at least! I hope the scan puts your mind at reast.
I find waiting difficult as well (very impatient!!) and especially when things haven't worked out in the past it is hard to wait hopefully instead of worriedly.
Fingers definitely crossed for you for Thursday!

Well things have taken a very strange turn.
I thought I would go to the scan and see something +ve but no not yet.
the scan showed a gestational sac but it was quite small and was a funny shape. It also showed fluid in the tbe so they cant rule out an ectopic.
So still no answers.
The radiographer was so to the point and upfront it kind of hurt. Anyway I had a blood test on sat and another today.
It doesn't look like it will be a baby but there is still some hope.
Unfortunately I started getting the same pains as I got last time with my 1st ectopic so I am off to the dr and heading for an emergenc scan apap.
I cant quite understand how I can have a gestaional sac in the right place and be lookng to MC and also have an ectopic pregnancy????
The radiographer said that ectopics don't have to be in the tubes?????
I am sick of being told one thing by one person and then something else by another.
I hope all gets solved soon.

I guess this is my last post.
My midwife rang and said my levels have dropped in the last 2 days so I will probably be expecting to miscarry soon.
I am starting to get a constant period kind of pain and hope it will all start soon so it can be over.
I feel extremely gutted, that why me kind of thing. I am scared about what I am heading for as my only experience of miscarriage was when I was 9 and my mother was carried to the car bleeding and taken to the hospital for 3 days, it was the only time our lunches were forgotten when we were school kids.
Thanks for all the tve comments and support.
