Hi I have a 2 & half year old girl who is very strong willed and does not want to drink cows milk at all. But she will tolerate cows milk on her cereal.
She always throws the cup away when we give it to her to drink. She currently drinks from a bottle.
Any suggestions as how to get her to at least drink a cup of milk and get rid of the bottle?

Maybe just give it a rest for a while. As long as she is having plenty of dairy in other forms she doesnt need milk. ie youghurt and cheese. Its good that she is having it on her cereal too. So what i would prob do is go cold turkey on the bottle and offer her a glass of milk but if she refuses dont push it. Im sure she will eventually come around.

Try a bit of milk flavour to colour the milk so she might think it's something new.

i agree with what angelnz says if she wont drink it dont worry to much.Brianna was having a bottle but i wanted to get her off that so she ended up having a dummy which wasnt my choice she had one in her toy box and she always wanted it so she had it when she went to bed i think somtimes its hard to get them off the bottle but i dont have any real suggestions you might just have to try slowly weening her off it.sorry couldn't be much help.

Hi
Thanks for all your views. I guess going cold turkey is the only option as I don't really want my child to be still having a bottle when she's three!
I mean there is nothing wrong with having a bottle but I guess at 3 years old she doesn't really need it, after all she is having a varied diet....
So thanks anglenz, 2early and bub
Will try and go cold turkey from the bottle after Easter. Do you reckon I should just stop the milk drinks during the day at first but still keep the night bottle?

yeah if thats the best for you just take her off it during the day and just a bottle at night time. Even just give her less than wat she normally has at night like half it or somthing.
