It seems like lots of people around me are buying beds with trundle beds for their kids.

For those of you that have them - do you use the trundle bed often?

We have a portable fold out bed which is really nice plus a couple of spare beds and am wondering if that'd be as good as a trundle.

We had a look in big save and the bed we really love is $300 less than the one with the trundle bed.

WE have a king single for jake, with a trundle bed in the base, the bed can stand up and make a queen size bed if needed or you can use it as 2 singles. It is a good sleepyhead one, cost about $1100 down from $1800 . We got that one for a few reasons, one was I wanted a good bed he could have till he left home and two I wanted the trundle so we could have a "stowaway" spare bed that was comfy but but hidden. We have used it a few times already, and it has been proven to be not only comfy but handy! Charlotte has a huge room that easily accomodates 2 singles, but when her time for a big bed comes, we will be getting the same kind of bed, the extra space is great!

We are thinking of getting Daniel a bed with a trundle because we want to have a spare bed for when hes older and wants to have a friend stay over. His room is pretty small so it's good that it's out of the way.

I want to get the exact same bed that Annie has describe for James as our rooms aren't that big, it's big enough to last him until he leaves home or buys his own bed and we would still have a spare bed for when he starts to have friends stay over.

We thought about these but ended up getting a set of bunks that can be used as two seperate beds, we also have a fold out portable one that we store under the spare bed and have put one of the bunks in the baby room. Leahs cot goes to a bed as well and we have a second cot (went for containment!!!) so we have lots of spares at the moment.

Sounds like we got the same bed and bought it for the same reasons

Jeepers that is a LOT of money. The one we are looking at is $399.

We have an extra long king single down stairs so we are just looking to get a standard single. We found a really lovely sleepyhead one we want for $399 or $699 for the trundle one.

It's not a lot when you expect that bed to last them until they move out (in about a year or so )

I guess. I think we'll go with one for less and presumably it'll still last her until she moves out. We have a King single which can be used later if needs be but her room is small so at this stage a single would be better for us.

Thanks :)
