Kick start for potty training was tonight and much to my delight Michaela went wees in the potty - woohoo

Ok, gotta admit I did tip the odds in her favour by sitting the potty in front of the TV and sitting her on it without any underpants on while I cooked dinner - but hey nothing wrong with setting ourselves up to achieve

She seems to be a child that learns by doing so hopefully now she understands what we want her to do. Then again this achievement was followed a wee while later by a puddle on the floor but ce la vie baby steps aye!

Do any of you experienced mums have tips for those of us starting the TTing journey? What worked and what didn't for your little one?

That is pretty much what we did. Lots of no pants/nappy and the potty lived in the lounge. Big fuss made over her every time. Took a couple of weeks but now, its brilliant!

Go Michaela!

Yay, she did it again this morning! When I took her night time pull ups off I sat her on the potty again and a short while later - voila!

This time she didn't jump off straight away and go and finish peeing somewhere else so that's a good sign too.

I've left DH with strict instructions to regularly sit her on the potty without a nappy, especially after drinks so *fingers crossed*

Good luck with that....I tell my DH to make sure he takes her to toilet after a drink and every 30-45 min. But he says she refuses to go and so he puts her back on a nappy!!! Arrggg Men!!

Sounds like she is doing great tho.

Yep, that sounds like my DH. That's what happened last time we started TTing, she was getting sick of being asked apparently so he stopped asking.

What's with this asking business for goodness sake? She's 2yo, give her a choice between sitting on the toilet or playing - hmm, not a tough decision really.

Hopefully now he's seen her doing it though he may feel more motivated, and I'm home on Saturday and Sunday so I'll take over then.
