On Sunday Michaela decided to forgo her daytime sleep, we left her in her room for a couple of hours but to no avail. She did the same yesterday though in the end DH did manage to get her down for a measly 45 mins.
I see from another post that Kazzle's Rhiannon (who's the same age as Michaela) isn't sleeping during the day either.
I'm not ready for her to give up her daytime sleeps. At almost 30 I still enjoy my daytime naps and a boisterous 2yo is going to put a spanner in the works .
I'm holding out hope that this is temporary and she'll go back to her 2-3 hour daytime sleeps soon, but I'm now curious. When did your toddler/s drop their daytime sleeps?

doesnt it suck....i have just gotten home from shopping, Rhi was just about asleep in the car...walk in the door and she refuses to go down...and has started playing with her toys....its really frustrating as i know she is really tired...rubbing her eyes, yawning and grizzly and grumpy but refuses to sleep.
on the upside she is down by 6pm but it means waking her at 6.30am when i want the car....

Michaela's still going to bed at 7:30pm, thank goodness - otherwise I'd barely see her.

Ella dropped hers at about 2 1/2. She tried a couple of times to drop it earlier but with a new baby I wasn't ready to give it up! I insisted on 'quiet time' in her room even after she stopped sleeping which meant I could grab 30 mins sleep on the couch if I was lucky enough to get Benjy down to sleep too!

We are in the process of dropping ours too, she slept for a measley 20 mins on Sunday (when I could have done with another nap) and isn't going down at daycare either.
She is in bed by 6.45pm and is sleeping through every night now tho until about 7.15am.
I have noticed tho that she is having her own quiet time, taking herself off to her room and lying on her bed. Not for ages but for a wee while. Or dragging her blanket on to the couch and lying there. Its cute!

That's exactly what we've done the last two days with Michaela.
I think this is the beginning of the end of daytime sleeps . She's going to bed at night at the normal time and she's not showing any of her tired signs in the afternoon, the only difference is she's sleeping in until after 6am. I suppose that'll have to do.
P.s. that's gorgeous Curious G.

Maya dropped her daytime nap by her second birthday, when she graduated to the Over 2's at daycare she wasn't having sleeps anymore. She never had high sleep needs tho, her day sleeps were only ever 45 min powernaps.
Gremlins are still sleeping 2+ hours, long may it continue!

I think they go through phases. We are having one ATM. Gone from 2+ hour naps to "I will not nap". 30mins ago she was lying on the floor, half asleep asking for bed but as soon as I put her down the partying began and she is now refusing to sleep.
We've had almost a week of that indispersed with 2 hour naps. These phases happen from time to time (in this case the osteo said his last treatment may cause some temorary issues and it has!)
These days with no nap are horrid, horrid, horrid as he is soooo painfully tired and ratty.

Jack refused to sleep in his bed at the start of the year but would just fall asleep wherever he was playing, so now he has a sleep on his wee couch each day. About 2 hours when we have playcentre I hope it continues

Hannah went through quite a few phases of looking like she was going to drop it for a few days then going back to sleeping a couple of hours each day.
Screw with ya head don't they?
Han now sleeps at creche because they tire her out but doesn't usually sleep on the weekend unless I do something particularly active with her in the morning.

DH called at 2:15pm to say that she resisted her daytime nap again today. He went to get ready for work and had just got out of the shower and found her crashed out in the lounge. Now he's on his way in to meet me so had to wake her up

Alyssa dropped hers a couple of months ago, but it's clear she still needs them when she occassionally gets really grizzly around dinnertime. Other times she copes fine and is perfectly happy..
She was never a great day sleeper though, so naps were only usually about 45minutes when she had them anyway.

Yup we having the same prob here. It started just after Harry arrived and has been ongoing. She came right for a couple of weeks and I thought yay we are on track again but it seems not. The problem we have is that she is demoing her room when I put her in there. She is climbing her draws and pulling things off the shelves and pulling clothes out of the drawers also new thing is opening the window, great when it is all of 9 degrees outside! Arghhhh!! Currently she only has a bed and her big set of drawers in there.
I really need that little bit of time to myself as when she is up she never stops and is in to everything, it is doing my head in at the moment. That is the only time I 'might' get kid free time.
I am hoping that she may go back to it again but not holding my breath, may it is time to look at preschool?
Good luck to everyone else having the same problem.

Yeah Andrew did that everynow and then but has really only just dropped that sleep late last year. I still try to get him to have a rest in the afternoon so I can have one too.

Snap. Michaela fell asleep at 10:45am yesterday and didn't wake again until 2:30pm. She even skipped lunch. Despite her huge nap she still went to bed at 7:30pm last night
