Because it was Maya's last day at her daycare today and I howled my eyes out ! She didn't shed a single tear, but I was a wreck. She's been going there since she was 5 mths old, so basically her whole life, and she starts at Montessori kindy on Monday.

On the one hand it's neat to see her growing up, and changing and adapting, but on the other hand I am sooooo not ready!

I did think of it that way lol Maria

Liz - I was a MOntessori kid, so it's important frmy parents for Maya to go there (plus they're paying ) but it's the same price as daycare anyway.

She seemed to really love it the other day, when I arrived to pick her up they were having Mat Time singing and reading stories. They are very big on structure and rules - one little boy had to go and sit by himself because he wouldn't cross his arms and legs, which seemed a bit full on to me, but then I guess a bit of discipline is excatly what they need.

And she came home and told me she learnt about triangles, whereas at daycare she would come home and tell me she played etc. So I guess there is more of an education focus. They also make the kids put away the materials when they are finished an activity, and finish what they start, which I think is good.

But will keep you posted on my thoughts as she settles in.
