Hey everyone,
In light of Emma's latest scan post - I was wondering if anyone else wants to share them so I can understand what 'bits' to be looking for when I get mine done! This isn't a "between the legs" shot, but the sonographer could tell from the lack of "dangly bits" that she was a girl..
Baby is lying face down, spine running across the top of the pic, head at the right, bum to the left...nothing hanging down...  -------------

I don't have a scanner... but then I still can't make out a baby in my 37 week pics! And that was a week or so before I had him!!! It all just looks like a pile of goo to me and the useless scanners didn't even bother pointing out what part was the baby and what was just bits of me =/ -------------

When i was pregnant with caitlyn i asked the sonographer what the girl bits look like, she said they look like 2 hamburger buns , which is what Emmas look like where the arrow is pointing ......

I didn't want to know what flavour I was getting so they couldn't scan the lower parts for these ones, it would have been a bit hard to disguise the dangly bit.

heres mine - the sonographer said she doesnt like taking pics of "bits" as she thinks its mean. (id asked for a pic to prove it was a boy!)
but looking through my scan pics im pretty sure this is a shot of his testicles?  ------------- Mummy to two beauties... Formerly Kaiz. |

True. Maybe just the way the pic is taken. You can see in mine it is only a tiny dot in the corner. But it was 1.07cm, so I guess not that little compared to yours.

Here's my wee bubba at my 12wk scan. All 6cm of him or her!! Got lots of pics - some are a little freaky, like the brain, spine and chambers of the heart! I had to take photos of the pic sheets stuck to my window, so sorry they are not that great.
First is bubba when they measured crown to rump, and the second is an arm... though not sure where or how it connects to a body!!

wow ohow scans have changed for the 12 weeks one - I had one in the uk with Josh (14 years ago) and it was just a lil blob with a heart beat nothing like the clear ones on here didn't get less than 16 weeks with the other two ------------- Ann

I'm still trying to work out how to tell the difference between girls and boys scans.

Cool scan pics! When I had scans for my kids the 3D ones weren't around then!
Joelle posted a pic of a scan at 11 weeks, with an arrow pointing at 'bit's. My understanding is that you cant really tell the sex until about 19 weeks? I don't know if her scan is 3D as it was just a large closeup lol. Or perhaps the arrow was pointing at baby, not bits lol. Anyway...just wondering if you can now tell the sex earlier in scans? Aww, they are very cute, makes it seem so much more real when you get to see that there really is something in there growing!
Can I just make a gentle suggestion, on some of the scans the poster's full name and other details can be seen - if you are ok with this then no worries, but just remember this is a public forum that anyone can view so if you don't want to be able to be identified then crop your pics so your personal info isn't visible.... ------------- Two little girls under 2!

haha, if not ,and you HAVEN'T had bubs yet, then I think again , girl , to me that looks like the other girl sign , the "hamburger " of course at 12 weeks they are so close to resembling each organ that its harder to tell , and not til later do they look distinctive, so maybe you will both have boys ...maybe I just like the sound of girl babies atm cos this boy im having is a lot more ouchy than his sister -------------

Here is my 12 week scan for this baby. These pics are of between its legs. Sorry I couldnt scan the pics on the scanner so have taken a photo instead. Any wild guesses?
