Wow its so exciting we have just started to get the nursery ready, mainly because i want it done before xmas lol, talk about wanthing things done now.
We have cleared out the room and my darling husband is painting the skirting boards and the ceiling, then we were going to paint the walls, but i have discovered that i cant handle being around the paint fumes, they really make me sick, so 3 of my girlfriends are stepping in to paint the room for me and help set up the nursery etc.
Yah for friends, and of course yah for my daddy who is at the moment resanding and repainting the cot we got.
i am starting to love being pregnant.

thats soo nice. i wish we owned the place so we could redecorate and paint and stuff. INstead I painted some pictures and put them in frames, replaced the curtains. It turned out well enough but would've loved to paint! Oh well, will redecorate when we move to Gisborne! You're so lucky Kazzle!

Yay Kaz! how exciting! Im getting stuck into babys room today, clearing it off all my junk! lol
Im going to ask my landlord if we can paint the other rooms in the house that are boring boring white, my lounge and laundry are red and the kitchen and bathroom are lime green, it looks great (may sound ick!) If I buy the paint Im pretty sure I'll be allowed to do it. Im just wondering what colours to paint babys room, i know im getting way ahead of myself! but i was thinking maybe yellow, but still, the whole house would have to fit in together,,, i dont think i want baby in a red room! any ideas?

Go lime green maybe? That could be pretty cool. Maybe some purple curtains? He he! I love bright baby rooms, and would so want to paint our babies room that colour, but we don't have money to spend now on painting the room so will make do with mobiles, pictures etc to brighten up the room

Go you!! If you can't do what you want when you're up the duff then god help the man who gets in your way My best friend painted her cot lime green and purple, and it looked SERIOULSY cool, hence my desire for a purple and lime green baby's room! Weird combo I know, but it's gotta be seen to be believed how cool it is!

We are also renting so our babys room is boring cream but I bought some really cute teddy bear curtains. At dulux they sell a really cool kids range of paints that you can in so many cool kids colours that are bright and fun. You can also get them with your choise of glitter in them. If you just but a few test pots you can just do the furniture for little cost.

We are painting our entire house the same colour which is called sour cream, its a pale creamy yellow colour,
In the lounge we have a feature wall, and in the master bedroom and our spare room we will have a feature wall as well, but in the nursery we are painting it all one colour, and using the curtains, paintings etc to accent the room.

I was soo eager to set up the babys room so we got it all done in august it was so much fun setting it up but now it's just frustrating going in and opening the curtains every morning closing them every night with no bubby to go in the cute little bassinet. I bet if we waited until the last minute bubs would have come early!

Jack's room is a bright lime green colour with a border 3/4 up the wall to break it abit. He has a white cot and the curtains are dark navy. It looks really cool, people always comment and I just love it! We just decorated the walls with some stick ons.
Lime green and purple go really great together! Purple is my fave colour, if we have a girl next (fingers crossed) her room will be purple

lolol sounds like a whole heap of kewl colours - only thing you might wanna think about it the fact that it may keep baby AWAKE!!!!!!
I always liked the idea of a cream room, with bits of colours, lots of pastel coloured ginghams made into curtains and duvet etc, separated by cream bits. - sounds corny but i've seen it done and it's cute. oh well - am stuck with olive green walls for now since we rent. ick

We painted the babys room in a colour called half spanish white, its nice. We did it a couple of years ago, though, as it was the spare room, but it goes great with the wooden cot and bed and drawers that are inthere as well. We decorated it for Jakey with mobiles and I am going to put an alphabet freize around the wall, one that i can take off and not damage the paint! I went preggo mad (nesting?) over easter and made rod finish all the painting and stuff around the house, he was knackered, but I was terified that the baby wuld be coming home to a paint fumey unfinished home! LOL. (another novel..)

Maya's room is boring cream too with big exposed plaster since we're renting, but the landlord is having the place painted in a couple of weeks. Will be a pain having to live around the painters, but the finished result will be awesome as atm the walls have lots of exposed plaster from the previous tenants.
Maya doesn't have a really 'girly' room, her duvet cover is purple with farm animals, and she has some bright yellow, green and red plastic drawers for her nappies, wipes etc. and some matching plastic bins for er shoes, which look really cool but practical too (we have a matching set of bins in the lounge for her blocks and little people, they slot into a wooden frame).

Our whole house is the same colour - an off white colour, but the curtains are all very nice (Jono has great taste I have to say!). We own our place so can do what we want, but money is an object so will make do with what we have. BTW we went looking at nursery stuff over the weekend, and I nearly died at the cost of everything A nice cot - $700!! A good stroller - $700!!! I never knew it was going to be such a HUGE expense!!

I started doing up the baby's room about a week ago hehehe...and bubs due in a month and a half! We rent our house too, though the landlord said we can paint if we buy the paint, but we can't afford it, so no painting for us... Instead, I looked up some Winnie the Pooh pictures on the net and enlarged them, printed them, then used them as templates for pictures to hang on baby's wall. I made individual pictures of eeyore, pooh, tigger, piglet etc, and put a poem underneath from winnie the pooh ie. how to be a tigger, and then framed them... they look great!! Another cool idea is to buy a piece of canvas and a few test pots of paint, then invite friends and family over to do their own little drawing for baby's wall..little kids love to contribute too! These pictures look great and are a special gift for baby that they'll be able to treasure forever!

or get a phil and teds - so you can get the second seat and both kiddies can still be covered - i love ours - ayja is just now gettinga bit big to be in the baby part underneath paris, so in the next month of so we will convert it to the 2 toddler seats.. have tried it once or twice and ayja seems to like it, so just waiting for it to be a little warmer consistently.

We have just not long ago painted our babies room.
we have painted it in a loevly deep grapey purple and are having granny apple green curtains, with a pinted toy box, and book shelves.
it all looks really really good.
we thought we had heaps of time and shouldn't rush things as our baby isn't due until end of January but i have to say that the room still smells quite strongly of paint so it does take a while to get rid of the smell.
So if painting i would highly reccommend painting as soon as possible.
But it's all so exciting.

We have just brought our pram from farmers, a bertini, teal and black and it comes with the new born baby capsule that locks onto the pram while baby is still little instead of getting them in and out of the carseat you just put the carseat onto the pram, its great and looks nice, we got the pack for $428, came with pram, carseat, rain cover, boot cover, head snuggler for the cars seat, belt covers for by babys chin, and a sun shade, the pram also has loads of strorage, saddle bags on the sides ect.. its fantastic...

Its funny how all the topics seem to continue rotating as new people get preggy!! A few months ago there were a few of us asking the same questions about nurserys and prams etc.
Our nursery is white with a pastel yellow feature wall and navy curtains. And I just love my BabyLove 3 wheel pram from Baby Factory ($250). Its really light and easy to steer and I love taking Hannah out for walks in it.

weeeee 3 kids under one!!! adventurous!!!!
the only thing I can think of is to grow an extra pair of arms so she can push two prams!
sorry, i'm not much help. i can't even cope with one kid.
just wantedt o say that i hate my buggy. it pays to spend a bit extra and get something decent. as soon as hannah can walk i'm going to push ours off the cliff.
(it's the kingston jogger type. useless.)

My sister has twins and a toddler (she was 1-ish when they were born). They have two options pram-wise - one is a triple buggy for out walking but it doesnt fit in any shops! so they also have a narrow double one (with one seat in front of the other) for the twins and then Paige goes in the front pack. hope that makes sense!

Well I went into Baby Factory on Friday and I think it was the Urban buggy (the 3 wheel sporty one) and you can get those in the twin model then put a toddler seat on the front. Price $610!! Wendy is going to faint!! (She is on a TIGHT budget)
I will be looking on trademe for a cheaper buggy for her and just tell her to buy a toddler seat new!
Is the double one the one with baby in the back and a built in seat in the front that doesn't recline (asked the girls at babyfactory and thats what they said)
My Advice - DONT have 3 kids under 1!! Haha
