I have discovered that if i am feeling really sick, a cup of tea will settle my stomach, i have heard that you shouldn't drink tea while pregnant due to the caffine, as since i dont normally drink tea, this isn't going to be harmful to the baby is it?

and the other questions is does anyone have any good recipes that use lots of different veges, like vege quiche or anything like that?

I have been um 'naughty' during pregnancy. I have a cup of tea every morning with breakfast before work, it settles my tummy so well! I think in moderation it's fine, have a weak milky one if you're real scared, just don't go down to a cafe and grab a triple shot flat white and a couple of V's! hehe :)

I have had one coffee every day, and bub seems fine. I always drank two cups (before becoming pregnant) but cut down to one a day. Mind you if I have a cup of coffee I dont drink things like coke or Diet coke etc...

A little caffine wont hurt the baby. Trust me I asked!

its kinda strange, especially when i talk to my mum and mother inlaw, and they never had the restrictions we have now, and we all turned out okay, sometimes i have to wonder just how much of what we hear and read is actually true.

I have never been a tea or coffee drinker, infact the smell of coffee will make me want to throw up, even more so since being pregnant, as for drinking tea thats only happened in the past few weeks,

oh well i drink a lot of water and very little soft drink or orange juice so i suppose a cup of tea in the morning isnt going to hurt

you can decaffeinate tea by 80% by letting the tea bag sit in the hot water for a minute then tipping out the water and using the tea bag with new water.

apparently the caffeine comes out first.

it's on the little booklet thing in dilmah packs

i drank heaps of tea while pregnant but decaffeinated most cups.

I often put grated carrots in things, like spagetti sauce, even omelets. grated courgette is good too, for "hiding" veges.

I drank coffee and diet coke with my first and hes fine, I did have a thing for Sugar Free 'V' before I found out I was preg again so have had to stop that..
As long as your not drinking it all day everyday its fine..

The main thing about tea is that it can stop you absorbing iron from your food - so if you are taking any iron supplements later on, make sure you don't have tea with them or just after.. if you stick to only a couple of cups a day it should be right though - just have lots of water and orange jiuce too.

mmmmmm V i love that sooo much - i was the same craving it even though i very rarely actually had it before i was preggers, so had a few sips of mikes every now and then... once i finish feeding Ayja.. i think i may have to get a few cans and have a binge - i'll be awake for days but it'll be worth it.

Ana, I'm not entirely sure, it does say on the label that pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek advice.
I've had a V while breastfeeding but I do watch that sort of stuff because of the incident when I first had an espresso coffee... after feeding Han she screamed for about 2 hours and wouldn't go to sleep. Now she's fine.

Ask a doctor if you are worried but I'd think a little bit here and there would be fine

I have a feeling it says that you shouldn't drink V if you're breastfeeding on the label

Yep, still here Janine Didnt realise how depressing it can get waiting like this when you feel so awful! I hurt my back on Saturday as well (I think I sat down on the toilet awkwardly in the middle of the night !!) and could hardly walk all weekend. Bit better today - think its just a pulled muscle. I must be a bit , seem to keep hurting myself!

I used to be soooo addicted to V and havent had one since I got preggy - all this talk makes me feel like one now!

I'm naughty, I drank tea during my pregnancy, and had the occasional coke, and a couple of vs over christmas, as it was really busy at work and I was SSSSOOOOOOO tired. I found it made bub very active, the sugar rush, but no real harm, my midwife said in moderation use your common sense. As I only have one or 2 cuppa a day, i guess there want too much caffiene? Occasionally have a coke and still drink tea, and am breastfeeding, have just carried on with my normal diet, the only things I have found that effect Jake and make him scream is Garlic, cabbage, curry and beans (baked!)I think we can be just a little precious, as our mums were never told not to eat or drink things and we're ok?

yeah it does say that on the label of v and most other drinks - hence why only a sip or 2 at most for me... because it contains caffeine and so many other herbs and things that probably aren't great for bubs.

Men Can actually surprise you.. Andrew was so lame before I was on bed rest, but now 13wks of bed rest and he just does everything without even thinking about it, omes hm, does tea folds the washing he hung out at 7am before wrk, does the tea dishes then cleans up the mess ive made during the day, wish isnt actually to much.. then his days off he plays golf for half of one then spends the rest of the day doing not much with me.. then the next day he does the lawns and gardens, bathrooms, dusting vacuming ect.. I have been very surpised that he hasnt got sick og doing it yet, I honestly thought after a couple of weeks of doing it hed stop.. and now hes saying that if i should express so he can do every 2nd night feed for baby... I just about feel off the couch... and on the V topic I have a can prop every 2wks but I just drink half, my speacilist said it was fine.. and teh same... just use your common sense.. dnt go drinking a bottle a day....

Josh has been sooo good helping round the house. I never really let on to him exactly how much my doc and midwife told me to rest because I've had a few slight problems I just didn't want him to over do it. But last time I ended up in hospital he was there and the doc said I should be doing next to nothing then he went to the midwife with me when she also said I should be resting a lot more so he has been telling me to rest all the time which gets frustrating but I think I need to be told. I just feel his job is to go to work so my job is staying home with Chloe and doing housework.
I just don't want him to over do it. I must admit that I am at a point now where I'm so sore with what seems like a bowling ball in my pelvis that I have no energy to do much more than rest anyway.
