I know that a lot of people like Mountain Buggy, Phil n Teds etc, but I just CAN'T afford anything like that. I've set a limit of $350 at the absolute maximum, or $450 for a travel system (capsule one - undecided if I'll go for this yet).
Can you please tell me: (and hopefully this will help others too)
1. What brand/type do you recommend for this price range?
2. Why do you recommend it?
3. What are the advantages/disadvantages of it?
4. Would you recommend a 3-wheel or 4-wheel, capsule or not?
TIA

Hi Emz,
We have the Mothers Choice Savannah 3 wheeler which we got from the Baby factory for $349.00.
I absolutley love it. It came with sleeping bag, sunshade and rain cover. It folds down easily (well with a little practise), is really comfortable to push and Samantha always looks so comfy in there too :)
As much as I loved the idea of a Mountain buggy we just couldn't afford to pay that much for a buggy and then have to buy all of the accessories on top of that.
We had also looked at the Bertini 4 wheeler, but when we took it for a test run around the store it wasn't very isle friendly. I find our buggy easy to manouvre and as an added bonus it is a great trolley at the supermarket when Sam has thrown a fit and has to be carried around.
What ever one you decide to go with, I would recommend having a good play with it in the store, make sure you can lift it, fold it and also ask if you can go and see if it fits in your car boot. Most stores don't have a problem with this request.

I bought the cheapest one (well, my cheapskate Father did!) which was a Kingston Jogger. I went through a phase of hating it but think that was mostly envy of all the other "named" buggies.
Anyway, it has done really well! As soon as I figured out that I didn't actually have to undo the back clips to fold it up, life got so much easier.
So yeah, the cheaper ones do just as good a job! Mine has been fab.

We have a Bertini something er rather - I think it might be called marine - from Farmers. It's $400 normally but is often on sale for half price which was when we got ours (have seen it advertised for half price 3 or 4 times in since we got ours). It's a 3 wheeler, lots of pockets and is pretty light and does well over our walks down by the river etc. Came with a rain cover and that foot muff (think thats the name of it) thinger.
I love my stroller. I haven't really found any disadvantages to it. The only little thing was it took a little bit of practice (3 or 4 goes) of folding it up and down but it's really simple now but I'd imagine it would be like that with any stroller.

I have seen a travel system in Farmers for less than $400, there is a 3 or 4 wheel option, unsure of the brand though

Thanks for the link Jess, worth a look!
Baby City have got a sale at the moment on Milano 3-wheel strollers, the capsules and carry cots. You buy 2 and get 20% discount, so it would work out at $376. Think I might have to go in and have a look (thank goodness I just got paid - I lurve a bargain!)

Snapped up the baby city deal - the travel system for $375 (20% discount) rather than RRP of $470. Yay! I love bargains! And it looks so easy to use, could even train a male to use it
