Okay I think I feel queasy already, and if any gent has had the misfortune to click onto this topic, he may wish to back quietly out

http://www.everybody.co.nz/page-2b15eb0a-d487-48a6-9ca2-c5128078d645.aspx - Fibroids. What can you tell me about them? My mum has them, has had for quite a while but she is rather anti-medical-intervention so hasn't done anything about it. But I hear that they can be more common in women in the same family, even though no one knows what their cause is. So my questions are:
Do I have a high chance of getting them?
How will I know if I have them?
Are they endo? Or only endo if in a certain place? Or not endo at all?
When can they develop up to (e.g. anytime up to menopause)?
Am I unlikely to get them before I turn 30?
Anything else?

Thanks!

I know BS has them so hopefully she see this post Teresa and she can answer some questions for you.

However I would think you may a high chance of getting them as there is a family history of them. I know my cousin got them when she was young and I know she has had 2 op's to get rid of them but they keep coming back for her.
