Yep agreed usually parents do sort of suspect something is amiss, know their kids best and have their best interests at heart - but I have also worked with MANY kiddies whose parents were in complete denial about/aware of the significant difficulties their children were having. Just to make it clear I am not referring to Ty at all... I am talking in general in response to lilypad's post
It kinda reminds me of those healthline ads where they ask if ya can tell the difference between the two people

- sometimes kids can have some delays and be fine, sometimes there is an underlying cause which needs to be identified... If problems are identified early treatment is MUCH more effective, I guess if plunket did suspect delays I would think for peace of mind it would be best to have it investigated as they are basing their suggestions on typical development.
I guess it's also a matter of doing ya own research and being informed about what ya kiddies should be doing - that's why sites like this a great eh! and it seems that the mothers on here are doing that... but there are lots of mothers out there that don't for one reason or another have the information they need to make these judgements so it wouldn't be in the best interests for these parents to trust their own intuition IYGWIM...
That is awful what they said to you about the formula!!! they would be wild with me for giving my 15 month old a bottle then
man what a novel
