anyhoo....my sister is 31wks pregnant and it's her 40th bday on wed so her partner is surprising her with a much needed night away. my parents would like to make her a yummy platter to enjoy, but we're stuck on ideas for safe foods. my 'baby' is 8yrs old and i've forgotten all those 'don't eat' things! Hard cheeses, pickles, olives, crackers, grapes, roasted peppers. As long as you stay away from soft cheese, smoked meat and fish, processed meats and cheeses, and things that are pre prepared i.e deli counter foods and go for jar foods like olives in a jar then you shouls be fine. And of course keep it all really chilled. And a nice non alcoholic bottle of bubbles?

Mmmm, what DJKaf said!

Most 'deli' type foods are safe as long as you don't get them FROM the deli section haha, but rather vacuum packed or in jars.

Now I'm hungry
