its fantastic!! We still get the odd wake up in the night and we are still working on the early mornings (5.30 is the norm ) but sooooooo much better than he was.
I also went to a sleep store course that gave me some great ideas here are some notes from it.

I read the no cry solution for babies. But honestly found it waffly and not that helpful. Do they have a copy of it at your local library? Even if they have the baby one, it might give you a good idea of her thoughts on sleep.

Yes, I read it and I thought it had a whole range of tips that might suit the styles of different families. I found quite a few useful tips. I first read it when my son was one and it made some improvement but I believe they don't sleep through until they are ready, no matter what you do. My son is 2.5 now and for the first time this week he has slept through the entire night without waking once!
Many of the tips I tried didn't work at all when I first tried them, then he'd get to a certain stage of development and suddenly, it would work. You just have to gently keep trying. Our problem was he always wanted to breastfeed to get back to sleep so I just kept trying to gently say no to him so he'd fall asleep without my help. Sometimes it would work, more often not, but it got better and better. Teething pain was a big issue for us too - he just needs comfort at night when he's hurting.

Yay for a sleep through Sarasal!! How exciting for you!
I read it when DD was about 13 months, but lots of the ideas required a bit more comprehension than she has atm. I think I'd have better success with it now probably. It's a bit of a frustrating age cos she's too big for the baby stuff but too young for the toddler stuff.

I have rad it several times and tried various things as Jack has got older and his sleeping has changed. I have found it (and the baby one) to be a great resource to have

She has lots of ideas to try - I found just taking the ideas that I liked, and thought might be helpful, good. I never wrote up logs, but had the best ideas in the back of my mind and slowly brought them into use, and I think they really helped.
Campbell has gone from a fed-to-sleep toddler who woke approx. 4 times a night to a toddler who's just been weaned and is sleeping through to 6am at least 4 times a week (and if he wakes, its usually just once).
Worth a read.

Totally forgot I even started this thread lol
Anyway thanks so much for all your replies!! I have a PDF version of the no cry sleep solution for babies maybe i'll re read and see.
Thing is tho, DS is very 'toddler like' for example understands you when you speak to him like an adult etc lol so I thought the one for toddlers might be the go.
This mama needs more sleep so I'm almost ready to try anything

If he's able to understand when you talk to him, then I'd go for the toddler version. My problem was that DD isn't really. There were heaps of ideas that involved the toddler having some degree of understanding of conversations etc.
It's on my to-do list to re-read the next rainy day now she's a bit older
