Lots of people spot through pregnancy. It's not considered 'normal' but it's not uncommon either. The real bad things are cramps and passing clots. I full on bled from 6-17 weeks when I was pregnant with my daughter (which was terrifying after 2 m/c's) and it was all fine. But I reckon chase up a MW or your GP to do some more bloods or order you an early scan to put your mind at rest.

Buddy - i am not sure. I would ask for some more bloods if I was you. I had slow rising levels then rised to over 2000 but within few days had faint red spotting that got heavier. I did have a miscarriage but that doesnt mean it will happen to you. About 5 days later my hcg had gone down to about 300. I had constant red bleeding for about 5 days little tiny clots but not large ones and no pain and no real heavy heavy bleeding - i was only using panty liners.

If your HCG is almost at 2000 your little bean should appear on a scan.

As saf said spotting is regular during pregnancy and many woman have it and have successful pregnancies.

I had spotting through out the first trimester with my DD. It was soooo worrying but was never anything more than a wee bit of pink spotting.

Also you can get spotting after sex or if your a bit blocked up and erm straining (iykwim lol)

At 7 weeks you should be able to see the baby blob with the heart beating so I would ask for a scan from your m/w if your really worried.

All the best

Definitely get your MW to do a scan or bloods for your own peace of mind.

With my DD3yrs I had spotting right from the day I tested on the day AF was due. It was on/off days at a time, brown/pink/red, with huge bleeds at 8, 11 and 15 weeks. It all finally settled down by 17 weeks. I had lots of blood tests in those early weeks for hcg levels which were fine and rising (I don't know what the actual numbers were sorry), and had a scan at 6ish weeks which showed a happy fluttering little bean in there. No explanation for all the bleeding though. Sometimes it just happens for no reason and some women like me still go on to continue with the pregnancy.

With my DD1yrs though I didn't have anything except a little bit of red bleeding at 11 weeks.

With this one I've been having pink/brown spotting since 4 weeks, but HCG is still good and rising, so I'm thinking it could be the same as my first pregnancy. Funnily enough, I've been a bit bunged up this pregnancy, as I was with my first, but not with my second, so could be a reason for the spotting (like someone said above, the straining from being bunged up) because the preggy hormones can do all sorts of strange things to our bodies.

Do tell your Dr or MW about the spotting though, and ask to get more bloods or an early scan for your peace of mind. I hope everything is okay for you and your little bean sticks around.

i had bleeding and cramping at 8 weeks with this bubba, they did a scan and couldn't find a reason for it and it lasted for a couple of days ... i know it's really hard to not worry so suggest you get your LMC or GP to get you a scan as it will give you some peace of mind

Sometimes you can get pink spotting after bd'ing. This happened to me at just over 6 weeks, completely freaked me and DH out and now he wont touch me! Something to do with your cervix being sensitive.

Hang in there BBE - it is common to spot in the early days but it can also indicated miscarriage The best thing you can do is ring your midwife and go for an early scan to see what is going on in there.

Take care
