Topic: Tired and sluggish??? Posted: 18 November 2010 at 1:35pm |
Hey I would just like some opinions if that's ok.
I'm nearly 37 weeks and have been told by everyone that it's completely normal to feel tired and run down all the time as your body is working hard etc. But this is just ridiculous! I really want to get the babies room sorted and clean the house and prepare cause I'm scared the baby will come early and nothing will be in it's place.
My husband and I are going to start working on the babies room etc this sat. But I have all of a sudden gotten a bit anxious about not getting it done. But all I've wanted to do this past week is sleep all day!!
Any tips or similar experience's?

Yes- exactly the same! i am also 37 weeks and the baby's room is only half finished. I keep thinking the baby is going to come and it will never get done. But I am so super tired now and feel really rough in the morning as I am not sleeping well. It is a cruel mix of the overwhelming 'nesting' feeling and feeling too tired to do anything!
I think the best advice is to rest as much as possible and save your energy for the birth and first weeks with baby. - that's what Mums have been telling me!

Listen to your body and rest.
Have you had your iron levels checked recently?

I am the same!!!
I have sooooo much I want to get done but just too tired most of the time... I am on iron tablets so its not that...
I just try get one small thing done as soon as I get up, has taken me all week to do the housework this way where I used to do it all in 2 hours!!
My babys room is still full of storage stuff... this weekend we WILL get it done... I have soooo many nesting instincts and a list a mile long but yeah, nah its just not happening!!
the heat is certainly not helping!! I refuse to cook dinner before 7pm!

Definitely listen to your body and rest! I was lucky that I wasn't working whilst pregnant so could sleep or nap whenever!
I actually did go into labour before everything was finished! Oops!

Yeah I did have issues with iron levels a few months ago. And I'm on some really good stuff now! Definitely noticed the difference! I think the not sleeping well at night would probably affect it as well! Thanks, will try and rest as much as possible. And when I get that burst of energy, will do some preparations lol

I was just complaining about this today, i'm nearly 31 weeks and a trip to town to pick up a few things from the store and run into farmers wrote me off, i had a nap at about 3. Its ridiculous how lethargic i am - and my iron levels are fine.
I have been told that the tiredness of late pregnancy is worse then the tiredness of having a newborn - i don't know if that is true, and if it isnt no one tell me because i'm living in hope!

^^ haha I did exactly the same, but later in the night!
It's crazy aye?
I feel like I'm napping all day! And if I'm not napping, I'm always feeling like a nap haha! All the best for the next 9 weeks!

Bowie - it is a different kind of tiredness after the baby comes. You get your physical energy back because your body is no longer working so hard, but the kind of tiredness you get from interrupted sleep is worse than the sleep disturbances of pregnancy! Hope that makes sense!
