Topic: signs way too early...?advice please! Posted: 02 October 2010 at 7:28pm |
Hi All
I was been a member here about four years ago when I had my daughter...just signed up again because we have finally decided to ttc again.
Came off the pill a couple of weeks ago, last AF was on 15th and by my (very rough) calcs should have ovulated around 29th (early - mid this week)...
Husband and I were "together" on Sunday and on Monday I woke up and immeadiately was violently ill...then just like that I was fine! felt fine for the rest of the day. That has never happened to me before, ever! Thought it was wierd but just thought maybe i had eaten something...
Today I have had really intense sharp cramping pain in my lower pelvis, lower back and at times to one side.
I know this sounds crazy but is it possible I could already be pg...? and surely even if i was there wouldnt be symptoms yet?
last time i came off the pill i got pg the first cycle and I'm thinking surely it couldnt happen again...?with the wierd one-off vomit thing and now the cramps i'm starting to think maybe it could be - but i'm trying to tell myself not to read too much into it all...
So has anyone else had anything similar to me and found out they were pg?
ps: last time i came off the pill i got pg the first cycle and I'm thinking surely we were just lucky and it couldnt happen like that again...? I am really trying to manage my expectations here...:)

i got crazy tired at 7dpo but nothing before then at all. sperm takes 3 days just to get to the egg normally and then another 3-4 days for the fertilised egg to implant so i dont know how you would get any symptoms. i would keep an eye on it though in case of ectopic but very unlikely.

Is there any chance you could have ovulated early ??? as you said they are only rough caulations... I think you tend to be more fertile just after coming off the pill but not sure if its a little early... But that said i hope you get the result you want xxx

If you ovulated on the day then the egg had 12-16hours till it was gone burgers so there is a possible chance.
I cramping 3DPO and nausea 5DPO with extreme tiredness straight afterwards. I convinced myself couldn't possibly be pregnant as most references say these things kick in around 6 weeks.
But lo and behold ha ha I was. Oh and if you follow the shettles method and such and that was the only time you did do it, there is a pretty high chance its a boy lol

I tested 3 (or 4?) days before AF was due for my BFP, had two BFN's a week or two before that but kept testing i was SO convinced. I was nauseous to the point of vomiting almost from the day of THE sex and my boobs went up a bra size almost over night.
I think if you know your body quite well you'll notice changes sooner - but at the same time there is a chance this is your body reacting to coming of the pill?

The very earlist the egg implants is 3 dpo, but is typically 7 to 10 dpo... so most people wouldn't feel any different until then as that's when the hormones really start to rise. Some people get sick around ov, so maybe it was that or just random, or like someone said you oved earlier...

Maybe your hormones are just messed up after being on birth control for so long.
When I came off depo I got really intense symptoms including nausea around the middle and end of each month, I kept thinking I was pregnant but it was probably just an oestrogen imbalance. Took about 6 months to settle down. Might be similar coming off the pill.

Thanks all - appreciate the input
Sounds like it is most likely just hormones and coming off the pill etc.?! Guess I will just have to wait and see - but will make sure I keep you infomed of the result anyway
Isnt it amazing how "hopeful" you get when you have made the decision to ttc - all of a sudden you are getting hung up on signs that really could be anything... and now the long two week wait lol!

lol kayess, stuff the two week wait! i tested 9dpo and got a faint positive lol.. i'm too impatient hehe..
the cramping pain you described sounds like the pain i get the day or the day after i ovulate.. i get sharp stabbing in my ovary whatever side i'm ovulating out of that month, could be realted to that?
i got symptoms really early, the first one for me was getting up to urinate during the night which started 3dpo this pregnancy (though i feel i may have ovulated one or two days earlier) thats how i KNOW i'm preg as it just never happens at any other time for me, and mild nausea every morning (along with the mild period cramping too)
i think you should take note of all the symptoms you are feeling each day and then if you are not preg you can then compare with the following month maybe and keep a record?

Same as Marengo, I was testing from early on, I started getting waves of nausea and dizziness from 7-8DPO, was going to the toilet a LOT at 8DPO (between a preggy friend and I went through half a roll of loo paper in a couple of hours!) tested and got bfn, then got what I thought *might* be the faintest of bfps at 9DPO, then got a clear bfp (to me, not so much my camera!) at 10DPO. Ironically my scan puts me out 3 days so I tested positive at 6-7 days post conception! AND that was with a 40-50c internet cheapy lol!
It is pretty crazy how many 'pregnancy' symptoms show up and can also be symptoms of either ovulation or your period, makes symptom spotting so much harder! Best of luck with TTC!

With this pregnancy I had a positive preg test at just 3 weeks....so taking into account ovulation/conception date, I would have actually only been probably about 1 week pregnant. So yeah, I reckon you can get symptoms/signs pretty early on. I do get hyperemesis though, so I guess I have really high HCG levels??
As someone else said, you can get cramping pain when you ovulate. I don't personally, but I have heard of people getting it.
