Topic: birthcare in Parnell & midwifes Posted: 25 February 2011 at 9:33pm |
I've just join the page couple minutes ago to get some advice from you.
I like the idea of having waterbirth at Birthcare in Parnell but I live in Eastern suburb.
I called up all the lists that I was provided by Ministry of Health and Manukau hospital but it seems like no one who works in Eastern suburb doesn't works at Birthcare.
Do you know anyone who works at birthcare and works in Panmure, Ellersilie, Glen Innes, Remuera and Greenlane and also is specialized waterbirth?
Thanks for your help.

Birthcare has its own teams of midwives, l used them and they are great!
You have all your appointments with them at birthcare too.

Maybe ring Birthcare and ask them, would be pain if you had see go all the way into Birthcare for your appointments if you couldn't find someone out your way.
I had a waterbirth and it was a good experience - that was at Waitakere Hospital though.

Thanks, MummyFreckle, sarahm, Red!
I thought visiting midwife everytime from Eastern Suburb to Parnell would be a night mare but it seems like if I want to have a birth at Birthcare, I should use their team.
Thanks again for the quick response.

I second the Birthcare team -- they were great! And if you use them as your LMC, you get your own room for free (if there's one available).
I didn't end up using the birthing pool as DS was so fast, but it was on my birthplan and as soon as it was sorted that I was coming in to have DS, my midwife said that she'd get them to start filling the pool (I had completely forgotten about it at that stage -- other things on my mind!). And when I got there, it was all ready -- I'd had the tour so I knew where to go, no hassles -- can't rate them highly enough.
I live right out at Titirangi, and it really wasn't much of a hassle going in for appointments -- they aren't that frequent until right at the end when I was getting really bored anyway so the trip out was fine. (I also recommend the little complex next to it where the Blind Institute for lunch if you want to make a day of it. )
And, after the baby is born, of course, they come to you...
