I have been trying to TT my DD for the last two weeks. I had a week off work and she was bare bum most of the time at home and a cloth pull up for going out (looks like undies). She is pretty good at home, we are getting there slowly and she is having a couple of accidents a day mostly in the afternoon. She is dry overnight and for her naps. I think if I was at home it would only take another couple of weeks and she would have TT down.

BUT... she goes to daycare 3 days a week and I am not having much luck getting her to go wees at daycare. I am sending her in pull ups and they are putting her on the toilet regularly (or so they tell me) she hasn't gone wees in the toilet at all there. She has gone poos twice and is happy to sit on the toilet there but no wees. I didn't want to put her in undies coz she's not 100% at home (and on some days not even close) so I am worried about her being left wet if she has frequent accidents. But I am thinking she is getting confused by being in pull ups and weeing in them at daycare and then being in undies at home.

Anyone got any tips? What should I do? I feel like I've got this far with her and she has proved she can do it as she is dry at night and for her naps. She is fine with sitting on the potty or the toilet at home and the toilet at daycare. But I want her to go to the toilet at daycare and I can't see why she won't/can't do it if she goes at home.

Daycares are use to accidents. Send her in undies and make sure that you talk to her teacher and that the staff all k now shes in undies and pack lots of changes of bottoms. She probably is a bit confused by the undies at home, pull ups at daycare

I just had this conversation with my daycare this morning, have you talked to yours, they are so used to accidents and according to my sons carers much prefer undies to pull ups as pull ups just confusing for kids plus actually messier for them to change.

My daycare are always toilet training someone so they have a timer to remind them to take whichever kids it is, i'd send her in undies as it sounds like she is doing pretty well.

I second and third the above posts. We toilet trained over christmas, went cold turkey with no more nappies. He certainly still has his accidents, but I found that he didnt even realise he was doing wees a lot of the time when he had a nappy on.
Good luck!!

Ok, I am convinced No more nappies for daycare it is. She was really good today, she wore undies all day and we had no wee accidents, just a poo at lunchtime which she came and told me about straight away. I have witnessed other kids having accidents at daycare so I know they have lots of experience and they clean the kids up straight away so I guess I just need to trust her and let her figure it out with them.

Cross fingers it works out for the best!

We are no where near TT yet, but reading such posts in preperation.
Our daycare have a big white board the the toilet/change area. It's got instructions for the kids who are going through TT at the centre.

Thats interesting IsaacsMum. DD's daycare has a clipboard where they record what times the kids go to the toilet but that's it.

DD did really well yesterday. Just one accident at daycare and one at her Dad's house. Hopefully today is going just as well coz she has been doing great at home.

When I made the decision to go cold turkey with Tom we went into undies at daycare. I was determined not to turn back. The first couple of days he had heaps of accidents...I think they went through 4 changes one day..but then that was it...he got it. Apart from poos....still cant get those in the toilet no matter what!

Tell me about your cloth pull up...which one do you use. I am thinking of something like that for James...although at the moment he's just in undies at home and peeing everywhere

DD has been really good. Two accidents at daycare on Thursday and one on Friday, and none at home today. She even told me in the middle of Paper Plus this morning that she wanted to go to the toilet and then held on while I ran with her to the nearest public toilet.

I was using the Bright Bots cloth pull ups nzpiper. They are from the baby factory and are about $10 each from memory. They are really good, her clothes on the outside do get a bit wet but no puddles on the floor or anything. I have given up using them when we are out and have just been chancing it and DD has been fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I might have to let Arianne's daycare know that she has spent most of the weekend in nickers. We have had only 3 accidents. This afternoon she went to the potty all by herself. So proud.

Once I find out what the procedure is for TT at daycare ill put some nickers in her bag with more clothes lol.

It didn't take that long after i put Gabrielle in undies for daycare for her to be accident free all the time. She has been dry since last monday now including daycare. I took night nappies off her too on Wednesday coz she has been dry overnight for 2 weeks and we have only had 1 accident and only coz my dad gave her a full drink bottle of water right before bed. Good luck Natalie.
