Topic: Pregnancy Dreams that come True Posted: 20 April 2011 at 11:20am |
Has anyone else had a dream about either the sex or actual birth date that has come true.
First pregnancy had dream at just 5wks that I would go into labour between 3-5 in the morning and have at approx 8:30am 13 days before I was due. Also weeks later when husband suggested a name I asked him to repeat it and then I said that's it, that's what we will call him (didn't actually know the sex) but from that moment on I knew it was a boy. Anyhow I did go into labour 13 days before my due date at 3:30am and we had a boy born at 8:40am.
A few months later I had a dream that there was a girl that looked like my sister was going to be born at the end of June. A week later my sister found out she was pregnant due 1 July. Sex yet to be determined.
A month later I had a dream that I would conceive in December and have a little girl on a date to remain undisclosed for now, well I am now pregnant due around that time.
Mother's instinct or just a coincidence, what do you think? Hubby reckons I pushed our boy out with sheer will-power so that I could say I was right!

The first time I got pregnant I dreamed about holding my baby boy - it was probably right around the time of conception. My son has turned out looking like the dream baby. The thing that amazed me was that I had such a strong feeling of maternal love in the dream but at that time of my life, I was not particularly interested in babies and wasn't even sure I would like being a mother. But that feeling in my dream was exactly how I felt when my son was born.
I do believe we have deeper knowledge in our bodies that is not available to our conscious minds.

Anahr I know you are right about the deeper knowledge, it is why I pay so much attention to my instincts, just wish I could understand/control them better. I haven't always and have definitely paid the price for it. But if that path is what lead to my DS then I would not change a thing.

My grandma had a dream before I knew I was pregnant and even told her that she had a dream about me sitting on the top of their stairs with a 'mini me' or 'baby me' crawling round me. A little girl. And the following week I found out I was UTD!
She's known to have dreams of things happening either the day before or weeks before... She had a dream the day before my uncle died about him walking with his grandfather and father all in suits.

i had a dream about kissing a beautiful baby girl with lots of hair on the cheeks and she was gorgeous, my baby girl with lots of hair that looks the same as in my dream was concieved not long after!
i had the dream when i thought i was unable to conceive, it gave me hope and thankfully it did come true!
unfortunately i also had dreams during the pregnancy that i would have difficulty breastfeeding and the birth would be awful and not natural and those came true too..

When I was PG with my first bub I dreamt that I would MC, and I did...
Also with DD I had a funny feeling I was going to have a c section (although didnt really believe it) and I did...

I had the most vivid dream about Jacob when I was pregnant with him. I was floating on a boat through a tunnel, and all around me were images of relatives of ours, a lot of who have passed on. Then the river emerged out in the light, and the boat fell straight down a waterfall and capsized. I fell out, and knew somehow I had to get back to it... I swam and swam and finally made it, to find a little newborn (as in, still wet and everything) baby in there. He had a head full of black hair, and was so teeny-tiny, and as I picked him up to cuddle him, I remember at thinking even in my dream that this was like 'meeting' my baby early (I did already know he was a boy from the scan).
Then I had him, and he was a giant baby (not teeny-tiny like my dream at all) and a red-head. Of course I love him so much more than the baby in my dream
So I'm a sceptic... at least when it comes to my own dreams!!!

I had a dream early on in my pg that I was walking down the road, heavily pregnant and holding the hand of a little blonde girl of about 2 years old, but I always thought that I was having a boy so forgot all about it.
Sure enough, out came a girl and she looks exactly as I had dreamed her. We are also ttc #2 now so hopefully the other part of that dream is correct and I get UTD soon
