Hi, can anyone help with any suggestions on how to stop my DS biting (other people not boobies).  He only started this last week but has so far bitten 3 people and I'm horrified!!   He bit one of them in front of me so I told him off using a very stern voice and put him in time out but for double his age, but the other times I didn't see him do it, I only saw the marks after.

Is this a stage and will he quickly grow out of it. I noticed when he bit my friends DS it was out of frustration.

Any advice will be much appreciated.  I might google this in the meantime.

My 15 month old has been doing it for a couple of months. Nothing we've tried has seemed to stop the urge. We find removing him from the situation is the only thing that stops him. He doesn't do it when hes frustrated or cross. Often its when hes cuddling I was talking to the Plunket nurse about it and she suggested it was a sensory thing for him. She just suggested saying 'No biting that hurts Mummy or whoever' and remove him from the situation.

Thanks for your reply - I'll just keep persisting.  Luckily he hasn't bitten anyone since last Friday.

i have to say i am one of those people that subscribe to the theory of do unto them (on somethings) as they do to you.

Cory was a biter, until he bit me hard enough he drew blood, so i bit him back, hard enough that it hurt him but didnt break skin or anything, and he hasnt done it since.
