So, I'm finally planning on weaning my 17mo DS over the next month or so. He is down to 2 BF a day - one before he goes down for the night, and one first thing in the morning.

I'm not too concerned about dropping the evening bf - he has started faffing about during this one anyway, and only has about 5 mins worth before I put him to bed for the night.

At the moment he sleeps through from 7pm until a luxurious 7 or even 8am - but only because I quickly feed him when he wakes at 5 / 6amish.

Has anyone got any advice or pointers on how to drop this morning bf? (When I get there - I think I'll focus on dropping the evening one first) Should I offer cows milk at that time of day?? Or just let him grizzle and resign myself to early starts?

TIA!

DD dropped her5/6am feed of her own accord one day just before her first birthday so don't really have much help. It just so happened to be the night that I was out till 7am because I was at the final night of DP's work and mum got up to her. She looked at mum then our bed then mum and went oooh lol.

Good luck.

Oh that was our last feed too! We dropped the night feed at about 10mths because of faffing and only feeding for a min maybe so thought bugger you go away...

We now don't get up to DD or give her milk before 7am, if she wakes before that she has a cry or a grizzle and will normally sleep for abit
