Topic: Showing early Posted: 08 July 2011 at 4:27pm |
Hi all!
This is a bit of a 'newbie' question, but how early did you all start to show? I'm 5'1 & a bit, pre preggy weight was around 50kgs, and I'm 7 weeks tomorrow based on my lmp.
Last night I noticed a little bump, which I initially put down to me seeing things, but then DF commented on it too, and this morning a friend who knows I've got a baby on board commented too. It's not overly noticeable in clothes, and unless people knew I was utd they'd probably think I've just eaten too many pies hehe. Is it unusual to show so early?
Thanks in advance, TGIF!

I found out about my friend's pregnancy at 5 weeks, and I swear I could tell at about 7. Her bump actually shrunk a bit at about 12- she was a bit freaked, but turns out it's quite common, as bloat bump turns into baby bump!
I'm sure I'm poking out too, but I have a bit of a tum anyway, and have had a few days of bloating too, so I don't think it counts :)

And i was like, totally flat tummied before hand.
Either that or its twins

Hey Bowie- how did you get a pic of me lol. I am sure I look exactly the same only I am 8 weeks today. In my case though I had so much cramping and stretching that I think my stomach muscles have just lost all of their strength.

I had a teeny pot belly from about 6 weeks, but unless you knew you couldn't tell. I am quite lean though, so I guess all the extra fluid etc does make you'd show quite early

hah cinderella! If you're just a wee thing chances are you'll show nice and early. Use it as an excuse to wear stretchy waisted pants early. Mmm, comfy. You can see a 'line' down the side of my tummy where my stomach used to be lol. And i was quite fit - i had abs, man, abs! so i really didnt expect to bust out a gut so early. I'm 5'7 and was about 70kg too so quite a lot bigger then you. Congrats you'll probably end up looking like you're smuggling beachballs

I'm just under 5'4 and was 54kgs pre-preg. I had people guess from 7.5wks on. Partly cos my totally flat tum was gone and I always wore tight tops, but partly cos my boobs got way bigger too! By 10wks HEAPS of people were guessing.
Second time around the bump came out even faster!!

Lol inkedpixie, I'm amazed how quickly I'm showing this time. I'm petite too, was 60kg at BFP. Not really put any weight on yet, but have a proper little bump already. With DD I just looked a bit fat for ages, only really 'popped out' about 22 weeks. Hmmmmmm, this time my body seems to remember what to do lol

Okay that all makes me feel a little better. We've decided to start telling people in a couple of weeks so I won't need to try and hide it then. I have to admit it's quote novel having a bump already! As for boobs, I've always been big so that increase hasn't been toooo noticeable so far.
Thanks ladies!

Im 5'5 and was 46kg pre-pregnancy and 10 weeks tomorrow. (i have supernatural skinny genes) I have a bigger the before tummy after dinner and after a few cups of tea but by morning i'd say i'm almost as flat as normal.
My MW told me that generally women that have tight stomach muscles show alot later then women who have looser tummies i.e that have had babies before.
Ha everyones different a suppose, i can't wait till i can see something.

I was ultra fit and had visable abs when I was younger, and I still showed early first time.
I think part of it is being short, as your uterus moves up there is no where for it to hide when you're short so it can look like a bump early, even if theres not much bub in there.
Alot of taller people I know were barely showing by half way through ... people were asking me when I was due

I guess it just depends how you carry... I am 5'2 just and was 54kg pre baby and even when my weight dropped to 50kg you still couldn't tell I was utd until about 20 weeks - just! Post baby... Well I'm 52kg now and a lil bit of tum and I could pass as UTD and I'm not!

I was aroung 55kg pre both pregnancies and am 5ft 3. I couldnt do up my usual pants/jeans by 8 weeks both times, and people were guessing by 10.

I'm showing at 9 weeks, I think its being slim to start with means any slight weight gain shows. Also, I've had no morning sickness and therefore retaining all food :D

I found in my 1st pregnancy I bloated heaps between weeks 6-9, then went back to normal till about week 14 when it started getting big and hard.
This time I bloated again around week 6 and now at 11 weeks I feel as big as I did at around 20 weeks with DD!
But I think being so close together my tummy muscles had NO chance of recovering, I doubt they were even back together in the middle yet.
