What do you put your child in when you take them out?

I dont really want to put him backwards by putting him back in a nappy. do you just brave it and put them in undies?

I really confused Isla and didnt help things by putting her in a nappy when we went out. I realised it was for my benefit and not hers, so I changed how we did things for a bit to accomodate her TT needs.
I would go to the loo before we left the house, and get her to go at the same time. Then after we had been out an hour we would both go to the toilet together wherever we were. I kept outtings shorter than usual, and made sure we made regluar loo stops. She did have 1 accident in The Warehouse, but that was it.

If your child is peeing on demand, then I would just go undies and make sure you don't stray too far from a toilet. I did put Ashleigh in pull ups though until she would pee when i asked her to.

I put Gabrielle in a pull up over the top of her undies. I went to a TT course where the lady who took the course suggested it. It means she is still wearing her undies but no mess to clean up. Also, she gets the wet undies sensation when she has an accident so its not as confusing as a nappy. I am sending DD to daycare like that while we are TT at the moment coz she is still having a few accidents a day and they need her to be a bit more reliable before she can wear undies full time there.

We started TT'ing with Liam 4 weeks ago & just recently we have started to "brave" short trips out in his undies. If we're going to be out for longer or we're going somewhere where a toilet may not be available I put him in a pull-up. Luckily he seems to treat them the same as undies & won't pee in them & still asks to go to the toilet.

We haven't had an accident for ages now so it's probably time I got brave & let him wear undies out. What's the worst that can happen??!

Just a thought but what about keeping a spare potty in the boot of the car so if you are out and a public loo isnt handy you can always nip back to the car for her to pee?? Is that weird?? A lot of the mums here (UK) seem to take a portable potty with them during the early days of TT, see the little ones going for a wee at the park all the time LOL

We have a potty in the car too... I'm always whipping it out on the side of the road when we hear the call, "Wees, WEES!" When she's gotta go, she's gotta go. Lol. One handy tip someone on here gave me was to put a nappy in the bottom of the potty, definitely makes the clean-up easier!

We are undies here too. I take the potty with us just incase I can't find a toilet and also because he's not so keen in using a big persons toilet yet.

We actually haven't got a potty, he just uses the toilet!

I love that idea of the undies underneath the pull up! perfect compromise!

We have braved a couple of outings and he has been fine! Will wee on demand so I just have to remember to take him and I think we will be ok!
He has really surprised me how fast he has cottoned on to it all, now for the number 2s.....

We only have a potty for the car, at home Chloe uses a toilet. I just couldn't work out what we would do with her on long trips, so the potty it was
