Hey Ladies, Ive been a member here for a while but have just found out that I'm pregnant- Not TTC but just happened.
I have pain on lower abdomen both sides but more so on the right, Ive read to much that has scared me on the net about ectopic and heard a horror story first hand. I'm very prone to stressing about silly things.
Have an appointment tomorrow to redo my blood tests to see where lil bean is but just wanted to see if this is common thing to have happen

Getting a scan is the best way to be sure, they can do an internal if lil bean not quite big enough. Friend had exactly same thing and all was absolutely fine

I got cramps on both sides and then what felt like just one side. My Fertility nurse said it's normal as uterus growing. I get weekly blood tests to check HCG levels and all looking well. I'm week 7 tomorrow and cramps were worst when first found out (bit like period pain). So I'd say it's just growing uterus :)
All the best.

so glad to hear that others have got bad cramps - I have too. I don't normally get period cramps - well haven't for many years but boy oh boy can it be sore - but it just cramps and then goes away about 20 mins later or if I think its too bad after my panadol.....

anyone else experience cramps? got my 2nd bloods tomorrow and 6 week scan tomorrow so fingers crossed its all good :)

I was in the hospital yesterday as they got so bad, the doctors and nurses don't know what is causing the pain and im getting sick of people telling me its normal. There is nothing normal about rolling round on the bed in pain crying...i have codine now

good luck for your scan :)

Thanks pinkie07. I know what your saying. It really doesn't feel normal but now think that lots of others have gone through it and it is normal. Hot wheat packs or hot water bottles and/ or a bath has been my life saviour. That and a panadol or two if it's really bad. Might be too much information but I also find that it's worse when I need to do number 2's so maybe that is a trigger as i mainly get cramps right after that or before.

Scan went well. Yolk sac there. Am super early 5 wks 3 days and getting another scan to check viability at 8 wks. How far through are you?

Pinkie,

You are entitled to 12 weeks paid maternal leave which is at a maximum rate of $400 and something dollars a week. I know it is a lot less than I earn a week at the moment but it will help! Here is the website
http://www.dol.govt.nz/er/holidaysandleave/parentalleave/index.asp

Perhaps go to a budget service sooner rather than later:
http://www.familybudgeting.org.nz/

Hope these links help. Also did you get hold of Wellington Hospital about getting seen by a midwife? Am seeing them finally next Friday (week 17).

Can you put the wedding on hold until you are more settled and perhaps after bubs is born? My sister-in-law did this. Could it be a smaller family affair/picnic style wedding with not all the big stuff? Do you know someone whose house you may have it at with a pretty garden? I know the botanic gardens you can hire areas for $50 for an outside service and then perhaps go into town to a restaurant and hire a big upstairs room. People will understand if they may have to pay for their own drinks or things. After all you have lots of big changes happening in your life.

Keep in touch!

OMG really! thats alot less than what i get as well but like you said its something a :/

weve done a really good budget and are saving a whole wage per fortnight...as the main earner this is going to his us hard i think- we dont own our home although this is exciting its also sad as well because were so unprepared.

our wedding is next year in dec- bonds etc have been paid and we really love the place that its at- your idea about drinks is a good one however.
