I am going to melbourne in five weeks for our last holiday before our our baby arrives. Can anyone recommend some good but not too expensive maternity and baby shops?

If you are in town, DFO is great - all the discount stores, and lots of things aren't actually mat clothes, byt stretchy and floaty enough to work. I'm heading over there for a few days shopping in sept, when are you going? Cos I'll be doing baby & mat clothes shopping, so could give you a run down if you like

think i'm going over mid-sept, so will let you know if I find places worth looking at. There will def be more choice in preggy wear!

Also, I think big ticket baby things are probably cheaper to buy here, even taking into account the ozzie tax-back thing at the airport, the exchange rate still works against us :-(

even going to places like Target and BigW you will get really well priced items which are different to here - so lots of bargains to be had!

I second the IKEA!!! Love, love, love that place!

I think there is a Mothercare in Melborne too now which I always found lovely to shop at. (Can be a bit pricey though.)
