Not sure about the heartrate thing (I'll have to listen again at my next appointment) - but DH and I had been arguing about wether ours was a boy or a girl so decided to try out the ring test.
We both got the same result (girl :) I win!) so wondering if anyone else had tried this and how accurate it was??

The ring thing was wrong for us, strongly indicated a boy, and no she is a girl!!
Oh well it was fun to try anyway!

The ring test didnt work for me either!
There were 2 of us pg at work and my colleague had had her scan that said that she was having a girl. I didnt want to know what we were having following my scan. We decided to test the wedding ring theory and got someone independent to do it. Her ring moved in circles for her and yes she had a girl. For me it moved in a straight line which indicates boy. I most certainly had a girl!

Been reading around and found this thread, (bit old i know) thought it was interesting.
DD's heart rate was in the 150's i think, and with DS they were 128-132 bpm, so thats true to the myth. Had my 12 week scan a couple of days ago for this one and heart rate was 168 bpm so that would be indicating girl. Although my mothers instinct and every single other gender myth out there says boy which is what i really feel im having.
Also at a 7 week scan i had the heart rate was 153 bpm, i actually thought it was supposed to decrease over time.
Will be interesting to see what im having!

I asked my MW recently about heart rates as I was curious. She said it is only in the last few weeks of pregnancy that it can help predict sex as the heart rates change at the end. The way I see it there is a 50/50 chance of someone being right lol

My MW reckoned DD2 was a boy based on this. DD1 was 150-160, DD2 130-135. Both girls. DD2 is just a bit more chilled out

Interesting T-Rex, I hope that rings true for me too.
DS was always about 160bpm, this one is like 130-140.

My two had really similar heart rates. 160ish at the beginning then it slowed down a little as i got further along. I think they were both 130ish in the end. As you can see they are one of each.
Don't know what this ones heart rate is yet.
