DS had his first big walking face-plant today and scraped his forehead and nose on the driveway. (We both cried!)
What do I need in my medicine cabinet to clean up future injuries? A bit of dettol (or tea tree oil?) in water and cotton buds? Definitely band aids. TIA.
Wow you are a super mum. I always said to my boy. Oh a bit of blood. Washed it with water if I really had to (actually think I've never done that) mostly I just brushed my hands across it to get the main muck out and then said off you go. My boy is a toughy though.
Eeek now I think I need to go brush up on my mothering skills.
p.s. I do have a full first aid kit with me at all time in my nappy bag so I"m not as bad as I sound.
Arnica cream for sure! Sam always had this weird habit of slamming into the corner of open doors when she was learning to walk so constantly had these massive lines down her forehead
I had arnica spray as well for the times she did bang & cut herself. Hypercal cream as well is a good healing cream.
Pack a tough exterior as well. Cause the time that they cut themselves really bad & you need to rush to patch them up & you don't want them to freak out if they see you really upset.
i always meant to get arnica but never did... water and love seemed to fix any scrapes here. I do have a packed first aid kit though, one inside and a smaller one in the car...
oh but i do have tea tree out that i use in their bath if i feel they need a bit of a germ busting boost!
We have savlon cream and LOTS of band-aids! My goodness we've just about gone thru a whole box in the last month. Thomas is so clumsy and falls over everything hehe. The latest is a inch long gash in his forehead where he tried to climb up on my sewing table and sconned himself on my chair. Poor wee thing :P He doesnt bleed a lot thankfully.
I got told not to use anything like dettol to wash a scrape by a nurse because it kills of the good bacteria that help heals. If anything water of saline solution
