HI,
DS is 17 months and loves TV!!!
If there is a cartoon on he will sit without moving a muscle and watch it, which can be very handy if I want a shower or to cook or something.
But its no longer just cartoons we can't seem to have the tv on at all without him sitting staring at it.
Are they all like this or just mine

Different kids seem to latch onto the TV - our eldest has been an addict her whole life, where as my 17 month old has no interest in it whatsoever (unless the Wiggles is on!).

Jack loves the tv and it is on Playhouse channel all day however I do notice that he will often play with his toys and just glance at the tv every now and then.
However this afternoon he was showing Bro and SIL his room and he pointed to his number chart which has numbers 1-9. He said "45" (4 and 5 - Playhouse Disney channel), he also said "1 news" (I ask him to change to 1 so I can watch the news), 2 was HI5 and 3 was "Home Way" (Home and Away)

I WISH Jackson would watch cartoons. Give me 5 mins of peace!! The only thing that reliably stops him in his tracks is a select few music videos. They come out when mum's at the end of her tether!

world record today did not move a muscle for an entire in the night garden episode (25 mins) but he is ill so it may not count.
I end up turning the tv off in the day or he would watch anything going I think.

Yeah Hayden lurves telly but I just dont have on during the day otherwise he'd just zombie in front of it!! Plus there is only so much kids telly you can stand before going nuts!
He watches a few things we record (Thomas / Wot Wots / Peppa Pig) in the 20mins before nap time just to wind down and the I'll put Playhouse Disney / Wiggles DVD on when I need to cook dinner and dont want him under my feet!
When DH is home in the weekends the TV is on during the day and I do get a little worried with what he's picking up on even though he doesnt sit and watch it, cant get DH to turn it off for love or money though it seems

Yep I've got one here too. Loves TV - even the ads - she has some favourites which she will drop what she's doing to watch. Apparently her daddy was like that as a wee boy too. She will even watch the news during dinner. Kinda good though because she will be so busy watching the TV she will shovel anything in her mouth and always eat her dinner that way. Morning TV on 2 is great. She loves Blues Clues, Waybuloo and In the Night GArden when it's on Thurs and Fri. Gives me time to catch up on OB with my porridge and then have a shower (that's if the other one is asleep). DVDs are great too. Although I do try to give the TV a break during the day and she will quite happily play with her toys or go outside. She does learn alot from the kids programmes/educational dvds though and picks up on things pretty quickly.
