Topic: So scared I am having a miscarriage... Posted: 29 November 2011 at 6:41am |
I am 5 weeks along with my second, and last night woke up with pain in my stomach, couldn't sleep it was that annoying. No blood or anything yet, but am petrified there is a miscarriage happening but I won't end up finding out till the scan or something. I haven't even told my hubby yet and now I'm not sure how to. Umm so I am pregnant but I think I have or am losing it?

from what i've heard, no blood is a very good sign! so much to worry over in early pregnancy though huh... i would get in touch with your MW and ask her opinion, if you are getting really stressed about it she may be able to send you for an early scan?
big hugs

ScaredyKat big hugs
As nannikin said, no blood is a good sign and getting in touch with your MW or GP to get an early scan might be a really good idea to put your mind at ease.

Oh hun, I'd definitely talk to your midwife, or if you haven't organised one yet, your GP.
Best of luck xx

I had about 4 scans in the first 12weeks of my pregnancy. Each time because of either bleeding or cramping and bleeding.
I'd say no blood is a really good sign but get a scan...it's so much better knowing than sitting and stressing.

It's also quite normal to have some pains in your stomach as the uterus stretches and changes to accommodate the baby. Try not to worry too much but definitely contact your MW or GP and arrange a scan to put your mind at rest.

No blood is a good sign, and even with blood it's not necessarily the end (I used to bleed a bit with my first). Hormones and your uterus starting to stretch can do it - I had terrible cramps with both of mine, like a period and early labour. Take it quietly and remember that a scan may put your mind at ease, but at that stage quite often there's nothing to see yet so it could make your stress worse and that's bad for baby all by itself. All the best!

Hi Scardy Cat. i agree, You should really get a scan to make sure everything is going ok. If its really bad pain then it could be an ectopic pregnancy. So go see your GP.
Im sure everyting is ok though! GL and let us know what happens!

Definitely ring your MW, she will be able to ease your mind, or send you for a scan and/or bloods.
I have had really bad stomach cramps this time around every 3-4weeks for a few days, a whole lot worse than period pains, but my MW thinks it is probably like a pseudo-period, due to the timing and the regularity of it.
It is scary, I can absolutely sympathise. I think you should discuss this all with your husband, you don't want to have to be suffering in silence with both the pain and the stress.
Good luck

I started cramping at 4 weeks and it didn't settle till about 10 weeks. It can get worse with each pregnancy from what I understand. I am now at 28 weeks and it has recently started again. If it is a crampy period type pain I wouldn't worry too much as it is actually quite normal.

I had really bad crampy period pains for about the first 8 weeks at least. DD2 is here to tell the tale!
Hugs to you and I hope you get your blood results nice and quick.
