Hey,

DS was a good eater, but the last few weeks, maybe longer he just doesn't seem fussed at all.

He isn't well at the mo so I know that affects him, he has lost interest in feeding himself, he was getting pretty good with a fork and spoon but now seems to not bother, maybe its cos we feed him, but its the spitting that drives me mad.

He looks really keen, eats a couple of mouthfuls and then starts spitting it out, he does this with everything even stuff we know he likes.

I'm not too concerned as he is a good size and according to daycare he eats well there but just wondering if others go through a similar phase at this stage?

once again i will blame the heat. kids do go off their food if they arent feeling well and spitting it out is normally a sign they dont want it.

Callum is going through a spitting phase at the moment too. I have no idea what's causing it - other than a sneaking suspicion he just thinks it's funny

Once he starts spitting I give him a few more chances to eat that food, then I'll try the other stuff I've got out for tea and offer water. If he keeps spitting then meal time is over ... depending on the time of day and what he's already eaten I just try again in half an hour or leave it.

I haven't worked out how to stop the spitting game but I'm just hoping the fun wears off soon I spose.

Same here. He did have a throat infection but that's over so don't know why its still going on.

I figure he's not going to strave himself too much so I am just going to try ride it out at this stage.
