Judi Slankard at Birthworks. Couldn't ask for better! She is no nonsense but an excellent MW. Wouldn't even consider having another baby if she wasn't available :)

Hi JaxxK, my midwife is Catriana Pratt she has her office on High street. She is really lovely and made me feel really comfortable at the 1st appointment. She has 4 children and is really straight to the point.
I just rung all the midwives listed under Birth in Focus.

You may need to ring around a few to find one that's available when you're due. Not sure where in Lower Hutt you're based but a lot of the midwives I rang seem to have their clinics in Wainui.

Have you had some throughts about what sort of birth you want / where you want to give birth and what sort of midwife you want.

Thanks for the tips!

I have tried to call a few on the list my doctor provided but a lot that have also been recommended on here, there number doesn't exist anymore!

I haven't tried Catriana yet im waiting for a current list to be sent to me by the ministry of health i will hopefully have it tomorrow. Really hard to find someone for the time im due (27th of Dec) but fingers crossed ill get there soon

Hi, congrats on the pregnancy :)

Jill Adamson is awesome!! She was my midwive and my sisters for all 3 of her pregnancys.

I wouldn't recommend Catriona, she was very slack with a friends pregnancy.

So far i've heard really good things about Judi Slankard and Julie Thompson though so give those ones a try too.

good luck

I would just ring Birthworks and see who you could get from there. I have had a few of the ladies and they are fantastic!!!
