What are the best pregnancy books to read to prepare for a first baby? Are there any specific to NZ that are essential?
Tks

Tks Sally. Do you know the names of any nutrition / cook books that are helpful as well?

The NZ Pregnancy Book (most comprehensive)
Jacqui Brown's one looks good for a laugh
I thought the 'Call me Dad' for Dad's was also really good

I bought Jacqui brown's one. Quite enjoyed it as its lighthearted but still has good info on it. Its also very neutral, covers natural births right through to much more medicalised stuff. There is something for everyone!

Hi,

Some of my favourite titles so far are:

The New Zealand Pregnancy Book (great general NZ specific advice)
The Happiest Baby on the Block (secret art of calming your baby)
Heading Home with your Newborn: From Birth to Reality

Happy reading!

I have really loved "Oh baby...birth, babies and motherhood uncensored." - Kathy Fray. Really informative and quite holistic. :)

Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan! Its not a NZ book, but so great if you're into a natural birth :)
