    Posted: 05 November 2012 at 8:58pm
I'm seven months pregnant and the skin on my face has become noticeably drier recently. Did a bit of googling tonight and it looks like this is just due to hormonal changes.

I put bio oil on my face tonight instead of my usual moisturiser. Not sure if it was the right thing to do but my skin looks so flakey and revolting.

Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone recommend a particular product that will help?

I suppose that would work? I don't like Bio oil cause of it's ingredients but wonder if you can get something on script from your midwife that would be ok on your face/skin?

Maybe this ? http://www.allergypharmacy.co.nz/shop/Shop+by+Category/Skin+Care/Other/Non-Ionic+Cream+(Cetomacrogol+Cream).html

Sorry you'll have to cut & paste as the link thing doesnt' work.

I'm only 22 weeks but mentioned the same problem to my midwife, she gave me a prescription for aqueous cream (apparently this is now a soap alternative) so pharmacist gave me healthE Fatty Cream, have been using this for only 4 days now but drastically noted the difference. SO glad I mentioned it.

Hope that helps

Me too! My face is literally falling off. I've been using rosehip oil (trilogy brand) but I'm not convinced it has made any difference, and now just slap on almond oil which is what I'm putting on my belly, so do both at once. I like things that aren't processed or chemically in any way.
Hope yours gets better asap!

good to know I'm not the only out there with flakey skin! Was also thinking about using some rosehip oil too. i haven't been able to find any healthE fatty cream. I posted a question about this in the OhBaby 'Experts' bit and the naturopath got back to me. looks like fish oil could work. hope your skin gets better too.

Hi ladies, I'm having the same problem all over my body, not just face. So is aqueous cream to use in the shower instead of soap?
Also, does anyone know what's the best product for preventing stretch marks, if there is such a product? Or is that a myth? Thanks! : )

You have to get it on perscription (your midwife can perscribe this).
Aqueous used to be a cream, but its now a wash and if you prefer the cream instead of wash the cream is called healthE Fatty Cream. Sorry, should have clarified that better
