Oli is still on the 6mth+ formula. Everytime we try to give him the next stage (1-3) he flatly refuses it.

I have spoken to my GP / Plunket and they arent very worried, but think he should be drinking cows milk now as well....which he wont! Little monkey will only have a few sips and only if I mix it with banana nesquick!!!!

Any suggestions about how to get him onto the toddler formula, and / or onto cows milk? He is getting lots of calcium from cheese and yoghurt, so thats not too much of a worry.

Yup, Harry was the same when we first started him on cows milk, and actually also when he went from EBM to formula. It was actually really easy - started off with 150mls formula and topped it up with 50mls cows milk, then a couple of days later did 100mls formula and 100mls cows milk - and so on until he was just having total cows milk.

The whole process was a couple of weeks - though it could have been shorter, we just wanted to finish the tin of formula so as not to waste it!

So that should work whether you decide to put him onto the other formula or cows milk

We still use the 6+ month one and aren't going to switch. So long as he wants milk at night that's what he will get until I can be bothered moving to cows milk.

Yeah I was gonna say like Arohanui that you can mix the two until he weans onto the taste of the new formula/cows milk. I don't think there is a problem with him drinking the 6 month plus one though, I think the toddler one is designed for fussy eaters to make sure they have enough goodies to make up for the lack of real food.

I was going to suggest the same thing as Arohanui too. I develop infant formulas (did the Heinz toddler actually!) and I wouldn't worry if he is having 6mth+ instead - it has more good stuff in it (which you are paying for!) so it is actually probably better for him.
Another thing you can try to get him onto cows milk - add a little milo, and gradually reduce the amount. Thats how I got Jake to take it from a sippy cup instead of a bottle at first. Only took a few days for him to get used to it.
