Topic: Twins Posted: 30 September 2008 at 2:20pm |
OK so there is probably a million topics already dedicated to twins lol but I'm getting lost.
So I was wondering if there are any other twin mummies out there apart from Maya's Mum.
I have identical twin girls that will be 2 next monday and OMG they drive me nuts sometimes lol.
Yes, they are beautiful and my pride and joys but they're such little monkeys.
I don't drive, so we are very restricted and with the weather the way it has been we haven't been for many walks, and obviously that restricts the girls as well so I'm looking for ideas on things to do with the two of them
One is very active and also loves to draw so we tend to do a lot of that sort of thing, the other is the 'mummy' of the two and loves to play with her dolls and teddies.
I'm always being told that I should get them into daycare but due to things in my past and my other childrens past, I'm very aprehensive about leaving the girls with anyone

I'm not a twin mummy, but we were in a similar predicament - i.e. no car, no daycare available and very active kids.
we ended up going to playcentre. It varies from place to place but our one was awesome and we made some neat friends. kinda like a playgroup but following early educational things too.

Yeah there is a playgroup around the corner but it's $30 a term and our budget is a little on the tight side. I could pay it weekly but then it's $6 a session .
Plus, it's becoming apparent to everyone who knows me that I need a break lol (sheesh I'm that obvious huh)

Where abouts are you Shadowdance? Maybe there are some mothers on here who would be keen to arrange a playgroup or something in your area?

I'm in Hamilton :)
I did originally join the multiple birth society when I was pregnant but unless you have the ability to drive to their coffee groups, they're not much use.
I know I need to get my licence.....but I'm really terrified of driving. Even being a passenger I panic

Hi Shadowdance,
I'm a stay at home single mum in Hamilton and I have a 16 month old EXTREMELY active little boy called Sam. I don't drive either, for the same reasons you don't.
I would be really keen to start up a playgroup and I can have other kids at my place, as I have a fully fenced back yard and a baby proof lounge! Well, it's not Sam proof, but we're working on that.
I live quite central, near the Whitiora bridge and the Mill Street Pak N Save, so if you live near there, then we could arrange a playdate or something.

Hi, perhaps check out the mums meet up section for hamilton and find one that is near an orbiter stop? It kind of looks like the orbiter goes down ellicott road, which sortof looks near nawton? Sorry do not know that area of the city very well.
