Topic: Did your baby/toddler do this? Posted: 08 October 2008 at 9:06pm |
Walk on their hands and feet?
So instead of crawling on his knees he is crawling on his hands and feet. Not all the time and mostly on the tiled and lino floors. It's pretty hilarious, not sure if it is part of him trying to learn to walk as at the moment he still just cruises and walks holding our hands.

Cooper does that, but with one leg up only... so its like hes almost hobble crawling... normally its when he doesnt have pants on so i figure the wooden floors must be cold...

My boy has done that randomly. I've heard it's quite common when they discover a surface that feels strange to crawl on (long grass etc) so it's not surprising Spencer likes to do it on the tiles.

Yeah Ashleigh did it occasionally in the kitchen. Pretty sure it was the cold floor :)

That sounds right, he was doing it on the carpet as well today but he was in the nuddy at the time. We laugh when he does it as well so that is probably encouraging it.

Yep tom will do it when the surface changes and then he drops to his knees once he's sure of it.

Apparently I never crawled went straight to hands and feet then walked (at 11 months) Daniel is now doing push ups!! Up on hands and feet ,down again ,back up, down again... it is quite funny to watch he will stay up on his hands and feet for ages not moving just looking around smiling... (he's not crawling at all yet so maybe he'll do the same thing)

Yeah Spencer does that as well, so cute He's so flexible he has been named yoga baby, so when he's doing it we say he's doing downward dog!

Caprece does it too and started it just before walking. She went from there to standing up by herself.

Yep! Jett's doing this at the moment. He only tends to do it on the bathroom tiled floor, and kitchen wooden floors. He's been doing it for a little while too! It does look cute, and funny huh!

my friends boy did this all the time and he was real quick, hehe! He usually did it on hard surfaces as crawling hurt his knees.
